** Edit for the 2021 Version ** --For the fountain pen users who may see this:I am not going to take a star off, and maybe I got one bad example, and/or maybe it's just one color (I have a blue one)... but the paper has changed. It's driving me absolutely bonkers. I don't know if it's a different texture or a different coating or what, but now my pens hard-start and skip. Every time. Entirely unpleasant surprise. I checked repeatedly, because I thought I was crazy: In my 2020 version, my EF Pilot VP nib draws a lovely smooth solid free line dragging just the point under its own weight across the page. In my 2021 version, it skips and stalls and stops flowing. *worse*... so does my gusher of a Broad-nib VP.Too late now, as I lived with it for weeks thinking it was the nib or ink or something, living in denial!, but no, the paper changed.I'll use it for the year, every day being annoyed and frustrated, and hope that the 2022 version goes back to better paper.Otherwise, the construction is equally good, the details delightful, etc. Still five stars... if the paper agrees with your choice of pen. Anyone using a pencil or rollerball or ball point etc won't even notice. But if you're a masochistic fountain pen'er like myself, and haven't bought one yet, maybe think twice.I'll update if anything changes. Maybe just January and February are bad. Or... something. Bummed. But more because I know it's going to bug me every day of the year, every morning, until Jan 2022. Assuming, of course, we get to Jan 2022, but that's a different worry.Stay safe, everyone. Wash your hands. Stay home if you can. Etc. Good luck!** Quick Edit and Update ** Bottom line: I am stoked to see that it is available for 2021. I'm ordering my next one today (hence the update), and have, in the last year, sold several friends on them. These really are great.Yes, it could use a pen-loop or two. But I still have plenty from the cheap bag I bought on Amazon last year. Problem solved. And looking at some of the other reviews, yes, they don't stay open well, but this is both a bug/feature situation and a tradeoff: They _stay_ closed, which is the feature, depending on your perspective... after a year of using it every day, it's nearly as tightly bound as it was when I opened it in January, and stays neatly closed on my desk, and the each page is still firmly bound. As for the tradeoff: It's tightly bound, but this is a compact book for, what?, 300 pages? I guess I get the gripes, but if you need lay-flat and more space, you should be looking for something else... not sure that deserves a one-star.For the record, because I am not usually this effusive: I have no affiliation with the brand, and am paying full price, etc. This is, please believe it, a real review, left because I hope this brand is around, with this product at this quality near this price, for MANY years to come. I'm astonished by how nice this thing is for the price, and how much of a difference it has made in my days. if you're a T&M biller, like another reviewer here, or just need to get a better handle on your chaos, or want a detailed daily journal / task tracker that will _last_, this thing is terrific. Really. And one more note for my fountain pen types: I've switched to a gusher of a Pilot broad nib, with dark orange ink, for satisfying notes and "FINISHED IT!" strike-throughs... and even that doesn't bleed through. This thing is awesome. Now I just have to hope every year is of equal quality. But I'm getting the blue cover, and crossing my fingers that it's not very pink-ish. To each their own, of course.Original Review:This is my second journal from this brand, and I was excited to see it available for 2020.The paper is thin, but smooth and strikingly good at preventing bleed-through from a fountain pen. The daily quotes, tear-off corners on each page, bookmark ribbon, and more, are all thoughtful and appreciated. I do wish it had two pen loops (or even one), but stick-on versions are cheap and available right here on Amazon to add your own.My only gripe -- and it's one of taste and my own expectations, not a dig on the journal itself, so I'm certainly leaving its well-earned 5 Stars intact! -- is that the color has a fair amount of pink in it. I was expecting a brown-grey, and it's really more a brown-grey-pink. Never had a pink capuccino before, but, hey, first time for everything. It's not worth sending back, and I'm not complaining: Just advising. Had I seen them all together, I might have purchased the blue or red one. But you may find that slight tinge to be a reason to buy it rather than avoid it!
