Please note. At least for me. Before you try and unloosen the tailgate bolts. Steps 1 & 2. You will strip out the torx and provided tool. If you do not first heat the heads of the bolts with a torch and then spray PB blaster (loosening oil) first. Wait 20 minutes then have at it. Even then they are still very hard to turn but manageable. THey are this tight from the factory. After those two bolts. Installation was a breeze and is really nice feature for the money!!

Very easy install. Less than 10 minutes. The only tricky part was the clip to hold the ball/socket. I just used a small flat head screwdriver to open then clip a bit and it clicked right into the ball. You'll see what I mean when you start the install.

Easy to install and came with clear instructions that you really can’t mess up with. I HIGHLY recommend adding clear coat to the two bolts so they don’t rust out in the future. The included tool is as good as expected, I used it but if you have your own tools use those instead. The shock makes some noise but not a huge deal and everything works how it should, tailgate doesn’t fall too slow or too fast, overall I’d buy this again any day over buying it from Ford for over double the price
