This lead-free solder alloy is mostly pure tin, and the most noticeable characteristic that stands out as being different from the usual 63/37 solder is that the alloy is closer to a eutectic mix. When cooling it has no slushy temperature range and it goes almost directly from a liquid to solid state. It may seem like a subtle point, but this makes it very useful for soldering anything that requires hand-support, such as attaching wires to a circuit board. There is no opportunity for the joint to shift because the solder is either a liquid or a solid with very little intermediate state.Other than that the rosin-flux solder has excellent flow out and is not really any different from the more common electrical solders. There is an immediate change in appearance of the solder when it hardens, unlike 63/37 solder. The molten solder is shiny, but when it hardens it gets a slightly frosted look. This isn't the gray, grainy appearance of some lead-free solders, and it is still quite shiny.Because of the snap-hardening characteristics I'm going to be using this solder for my general experimental projects. Whether I use this on finished projects and circuit boards remains to be seen, and it is advisable to research the pros and cons of lead-free solders for applications subjected to vibration or environmental extremes.

This solder is easy to work with. It is the exact same formula as the solder I use at work. This is just from a different company and cost less. This size of a roll will last me a very long time at home, so that also makes it a good value. Will buy again.

It's lead free solder. If it's not bad then it's forgettable, but this seems like a good flux distribution internally and it's a good value. No complaints.
