I've been using distilled water in my humidifiers for several years. But since gallons of those take up a lot of space & I dislike having my distilled water machine take up so much of my kitchen countertop & sink, I decided to try these in my larger GENIANI Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier a few weeks ago.Perhaps it's too soon to notice a difference, but I've noticed NO deposits whatsoever in either part of that humidifier. Having used a Vornado 4-Gallon Evaporative Humidifier with 2 large honeycomb type wick-filters for two decades prior to replacing that with smaller humidifiers, I'm more than familiar with minerals in tap water. Anywhere else in my home I deal with those deposits with distilled white vinegar when necessary. So, I'm happy to be able to dispense with that in this situation.Note that I also use a few DROPS of Essick Bacteriostatic Treatment daily when I fill the tank—using more results in foaming. That keeps Serratia marcescens bacteria at bay which is essential. (S. marcescens is what's responsible for the pinkish red you'll find in damp areas like your sinks, showers, toilets, humidifiers, etc. if you don't kill it with bleach or prevent it. Simply drying those areas every time is the best preventive but that takes vigilance for which busy families usually don't have the time. So, that nasty bacteria can grow to create slime where you don't want it!)We still have many weeks of winter weather before I can clean & put away my Geniani humidifiers, both of which are at least one-half gallon which is the only stipulation for using these demineralization cartridges—IF they'll fit in the tank opening, that is. So far, I'm very pleased with this product, though. And if it continues to perform like it has, I'll need distilled water for only one humidifier so we can breathe more easily once the heating season arrives.

These work well to stop the white dust. I use two humidifiers in my house all winter and I don't have any white residue on my furniture or in the air.

I have used these for 2 years. I have very hard water and these keep my humidifiers clean so much longer. I highly recommend!

It's hard to tell if or how well these actually work. We try to use distilled water most of the time anyway and we did experience white dust when using tap water. I would assume these help, but can't say it eliminates all white dust when using tap water.

I did everything it was supposed to do in June which was great but the only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the mist that the humidifier releases is white. This white mist Can permeate the room and although it does not have a smell it does he leave a white residue on everything. This white residue that needs to be removed from furniture, glass and electronics. If you don’t mind things looking dusty it’s not a big deal but I disliked having to remove this white dust weekly.
