This is very nice. No puddles of water on the counter, no wet dishcloth on the counter, no ugly disdrainer. It absorbs water immediately and still looks great! It is in 3 puzzle pieces, which makes it nice when you have just one or two dishes to dry or when you have a full sink of dishes - it expands or reduces as needed. My husband was against using it until he used it for the first time - he has not looked back and has used it every day. We have a dishwasher, but it is nice when you have the dishes someone always forgets to put items in the dishwasher (no matter how many or how few)! I recommend this. No need to put it away between uses since it looks nice when no dishes are on it.

I LOVE this diatomaceous mat SOO much more than a standard fabric drying mat; it looks much nicer laying next to the sink. It's more environmentally friendly too since you don't have to wash it ALL the time because of mildew smell like you do with fabric drying mats. I like that the size is customizable -- it has 3 separate pieces and if you don't need something that large, you can very easily adjust it to 2 which makes it very easy to use based on your needs. It functions wonderfully -- we place dishes on it immediately after washing them and it doesn't even seem like it stays wet for longer than a few minutes. I appreciate the non-slip mat that came with it that so it doesn't slide around on our granite countertop. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of how easily it looks dirty and ultimately stains -- I wish I had an option for a darker color. I obviously don't want to use bleach on it to try to remove the stains, but dish-soap and sponge haven't done the job, so I'm not sure how to get rid of stains.Otherwise, it seems worth every penny to me and hopefully, as long as we take care of it, it will last for the foreseeable future.

Several years ago I ordered a dish rack that had a base made from this diatomaceous earth material because I was sick of the gross slimy base on typical drying racks. At the time that was only product I could find that had this material. Here at our mountain house I don't have counter space for a dish rack and have been using a towel instead. As you can guess those get wet and gross pretty quickly, so finding this product is now available just a pad instead of a full dish rack was perfect.Of course the mountain pattern is perfect for our mountain house as well, but would look lovely in any home. In the photos I first put a shot of the product as it comes out of the box. In the 2nd I soaked the left panel in water, and as you might be able to tell it was already drying before I could even place it back down and take the photo. The third photo is how it looked after just 5 minutes, and final photo is to show how well packed this came, so you should find your product arrives in great condition.Directions say, and I back this up... that you should first rinse the panels before use. They may recommend this for rinsing off any dust from the material, but I think it helps prevent stains as well. You do have to ensure that you don't get grease on this though if you care about staining. Also that will prevent the drying action from working properly. In any regard, I find this size perfect the vast majority of the time in our household of two. Of course you could use just one or two of the panels to take up even less counterspace if you only need to dry a couple of items.

We've always used a towel under our dish rack, but they always tend to get stained and cruddy easily. I was interested to try this to see if it would help with keeping things cleaner. Overall, it works pretty well. It was easy to snap together, and fits pretty well on my counter. It also lives up to its claim of drying very quickly when it gets wet.The one thing I found was a little disappointing is how easily it seems to get stained. It comes with a little scouring pad, that's supposed to help get out to stains, but I've had several spots so far that don't seem to want to come out even with scrubbing. If you zoom in on the photo, you can see a couple of spots that have come up.Overall, it's still a nice drying mat. and I think definitely more sanitary than using a towel, so I would recommend.
