The item is cheaply made. Also, you’re supposed to get five in a pack and I only received four. Having a very difficult time with the seller to resolve this issue, as they are not ethical nor cooperative.

I've used these covers for both switch and outlet electric boxes in the last 2 houses I've remodeled. I'm currently remodeling a 1918 Tudor estate with separate carriage house on 2.5 acres, and these face plates look great with an upscale look with no screws showing and a small edge design around the front edge of the plates that's a bit more stylish and not just a flat plate. From my pictures, you can see I use these with standard recessed electric boxes & surface mount electric boxes, as with this house with some walls in the kitchen being brick & cement, or as in the half bath that has extensive use of marble on the walls & floor, that I can't afford to possibly damage. I like both the white & black covers, with the flat black being a nice look in most situations, as opposed to a glossy black. Most electric outlets & switches include the standard size face covers, but I also buy a box of 10 mid size covers that have a little nicer look if you have the space, & cover up more imperfections with the cut-out area around electrical boxes or tile backsplash installs.

I have purchased receptacles from this vendor and the cover plates that came with that order are indeed matte black, and in no way resembles these plates which are shiny black, and although they are screwless, they are not elegant at all.
