AS a guitar player, we're used to getting folksy humidification advice like ' just throw half and apple inside' and other gross things. Now that I have an upright bass, I want to take care of it now that the furnace is running. This is a great item, and it lists many instruments it's compatible with.What I LOVE about it is it's so easy to set into the top of the f-hole and leave it there. AND get it OUT again. ( try that with half an apple! )There are instructions and a humidity guide included. I didn't read them at first, and couldn't understand why it kept dripping from the bottom. You are supposed to SQUEEZE it out after soaking, and then wipe down with something. Shaking will not do.It's so simple to use, and I can easily alternate sides when OCD sets in about whether the humidity is evenly distributed.
