Great toaster. I love the little alert to let you know your toast is done.

UPDATE:Now that I have had this toaster for several months and have used it every day and sometimes more than once a day, I can absolutely say that this is THE FINEST TOASTER ON THE MARKET FOR SALE IN THE US HANDS DOWN. I was streaming Chicago Fire Season 5, Episode 1 where Lt. Kelly Severide was making a sandwich on toast. And guess which toaster the firehouse station had in the kitchen? Yep, you probably guessed it correctly. It was this toaster. So if it’s good enough for the firefighters in Chicago especially in a poor neighborhood like the show is filmed in, then it must be an excellent toaster. Kidding aside, in the four or so months I have toaster gosh knows how many slices of bread I have toasted I have never had even one slice popped out of the toaster any differently from the previous 500+ slices toasted.Simply stated, it toasts absolutely the same way time after time. Both sides of the bread are toasted evenly time and time again. With this toaster, I get no streaks down the bread. It toasts each slice from the center to all four corners. No toasters I have purchased, regardless of brand or money spent, and returned has ever done this. You can’t go wrong with this KitchenAid toaster. It even beats KitchenAid’s $500.00, die-cast aluminum toaster and it saved me money in the long run.I don’t know about you but I will and did and has paid any amount of money for a toaster that works—meaning toasts perfectly (evenly) slice after slice—and hated all other toasters. And by the way, this particular KitchenAid toaster is not light in weight. Though not as heavy as the KitchenAid die-cast aluminum toaster, it is heavy enough so not to tip over when pressing the leavers down to start the toasting process. If there is a downside—and I don’t consider it a downside but others might—it toasts bread slowly. On the #2 setting, it will give you a medium-golden brown color piece of toast. Setting #3 is too brown for me and will most likely will be for most other Americans. In closing this update, I want to leave you with one thought. I.only hope that if you purchase this toaster and there are problems with it that I did not encounter, please return it to Amazon for another toaster rather than letting the 30-day time to return items lapse. And please consider purchasing the extended warranty for three or four years. You may never need it but if you find it breaks down in need of repair ayear or so later, you will be covered. It is an inexpensive ‘insurance policy’ that you will be glad you have.________________________________________________________________________________________________There are toasters and then there are toasters. I have purchased and returned so many toasters that I can’t count how many only because they can’t toast evenly on one side much less both sides. The brand handmade in Sussex, England and the toaster that is Retro are the two most expensive toasters I have owned were OK but simply could not toast evenly on both sides. Bagels came out un-toasted. Just heated for the most part.,These two mentioned above cost several hundreds of dollars and it just goes to prove that paying that kind of money does not guarantee a buyer a great toaster.I have also purchased several inexpensive toasters ranging from $30 to $45 but to no avail. All these and the ones I have already mentioned may toast fairly well on one side but the toast comes out toasted but with striping. However, I have now found THE TOASTER that can and does toast a piece of bread as it is made to do. And it’s rather moderately priced. Inexpensive, not really. But for the the toast it produces, I have to say it is inexpensive. I mentioned that other toasters produced a striping effect. This comes from the heating element. However, for some reason, this does not happen with THIS KitchenAid toaster. A friend of mine owns the heavy and big KitchenAid toaster but it costs $500.00. The reviews are pretty good. But $500 for a toaster? To each his own, I say. There are only two things you might find lacking on this toaster: two functions are missing that are found on most other toasters which are ‘Defrost’ and ‘Reheat.’ I don’t put anything frozen in the toaster and I don’t have any need to reheat any item in the toaster. Other might disagree. Why KitchenAid left these two functions off I cannot say; however, it does seem stupid to do so.It’s a great toaster and I hope that other buyers will agree.

I am a senior and do not need touch controls or digital readout on a toaster. This toaster is made by a good brand that has been around for years and therefore should last. The bread on level 3 comes out perfectly toasted on both sides and the bagel setting seems to work well also. Although I did not see within the description, there is an audible chime that occurs when your toast or other item pops. I don't mind this at all especially if one is concentrating on something else at the time.

Purchased this as we had decided to do away with our toaster oven that we had for years. We wanted to have a good looking toaster that was red with a bagel function and this hit the mark. As a note, there is no such thing as a perfect toaster unless they start building them to scan the toast and measure darkness of the toast based on a touch screen setting. But that toaster will then cost you $200+ and what do you need that for?Looks: We love this toaster for the red mixed with the stainless steel. It has a bit of a retro look to it yet still does not feel out of place. People say the red is a fire engine red but in my opinion, it is a bit deeper of a red and not as bright as a fire engine red. I placed it next to my Le Creuset which is a darker red on the bottom for comparison so you can have an idea of the red color.Functionality: The toaster does exactly what a toaster should do: toast. I see people complaining that it burns their toast or that it doesn't toast even but I have yet to find a toaster that does toast perfectly. And that is because it will vary based on the bread that you place in the toaster, the amount of moisture in the bread, the temperature of the bread and if you just used the toaster to toast something else. For my standard loaf bread slice, a 1 works perfectly, giving me a good toasting. I will say, it does toast better with two slices as opposed to one as it will get a little on the darker side with just one slice as opposed to two. It toasts bagels really well and their is a bagel button so you can toast just the inside of the bagel. For a room temperature bagel a two, maybe 3 works well but a cold bagel a 3 to 4 is better. The same for an english muffin as a bagel. A piece of sourdough bread is a 2 maybe a 3. Regardless of your setting, you should always monitor what you are toasting and if it is getting dark, then hit the cancel button to pop it up. As for the extra lift, it works fine except with the smallest pieces of bread like when the english muffin top comes out really small as compared to the bottom. But this is the exception.Overall, this is an excellent toaster that I highly recommend.

Aun en el nivel 1 quema los panes. Todo lo demás está muy bien, pero lo regrese porque no pide sacar un pan sin quemar. Si te gustan los panes negros y crujientes es para ti.
