I have no idea whether this crankshaft is any good for an engine. I'm actually reasonably knowledgeable about that sort of thing, having rebuilt several engines myself, but let's be honest -- a Hyundai engine is a disposable item. When one blows, you go to the junkyard and just get another used one to drop in whatever tin can you're commuting in.No, I bought this purely for steampunk art / craft purposes. I'm currently turning it into a lamp for my son. I'm using a brake rotor as a base, drilled to match the bolt pattern of the crank. I may even throw some rods and pistons on it so that he can "spin" them around the lamp and have a piece of kinetic art. I haven't sorted out wiring yet, but I will probably just put this on the engine lathe and drill a hole all the way through the centerline so that it can be routed through the crank. That would interfere with the kinetic design, so I remain unsure. I wish it were a straight-six crank, but you take what you can get for the price, and this will be a fun thing to add to his room. Overall I'm satisfied with it.
