Adapter fits perfectly. (98 Cavalier)Won't accept 6.5" or 6.75" speakers.For people claiming the door panel doesn't go back on, the speaker has to be flush with the adapter. If you have a center tweeter that sticks out, you will have problems.

I had 4x6 speakers and really didn’t understand why Chevrolet installed 4x6s in the first place but whatever.... I bought these and installed 6 1/2s in my doors and the sound is so much better than 4x6s... wonderful adapter, no fitment issues whatsoever. Installed on a 2001 Cavalier 2 dr coupe.

I have to modify them by shaving down about 1/4 inch all the way around to get a “6 1/2” speaker to fit. Maybe some will fit but if you’re putting Hertz Energy 6.5 speakers in your front doors, get a different bracket. Complete waste of time and took way to long to get here. Not impressed.

I was very disappointed to find they are plastic after reading in the description they were metal, that was one of the reasons I ordered it, so I am not to impressed.

These will also work for those of you with 2005 model cavaliers and sunfires. I would suggest buying a slim mount speaker to install with these if you want to avoid modifying your door panels. I installed a pair of Polk audio DB651s slim mount 6.5" speakers with these and they fit very well.Keep in mind that the door frame/panel was meant for a 4x6 speaker, so its no wonder that some are having fitment troubles with these adapters!
