This is a high quality light and wide bag to travel with. It goes over the shoulder nicely, and its shape fits really nicely up against your side. The material is water resistant or waterproof, and the bag has a nice stylish look to it. I mean, it’s Osprey after all, so you know you’re not getting some junk. From time to time, I actually carry musical instruments in their bag, and I love that it’s as wide as it is. Most bags are a couple inches shorter in the width than this, so this one really allows me to carry everything I need. Super happy with this bag so far!

I ordered this bag to use as my "personal item" for domestic flights. I figured I could easily store my small electronics (tablet, Kindle, etc.) and wear it on my front to augment my travel backpack. I've owned other Osprey bags in my past and all have been well made and thoughtfully laid out, so I took the flyer and ordered this.The bag is well made with lots of pockets. The stitching is even and it looks like you could carry some weight in this bag. For my first trip, I took it with me on a cruise to to the Caribbean. This involved several flights and the cruise itself. I packed the bag lightly with only a few electronics and books for my kids. While this bag has a lot of pockets, none are particularly roomy. The shape of the bag and the pocket structure is a little awkward for travel. I wore the bag through the airport and wasn't a fan of the ergonomics. The single strap didn't work well for my planned use and it bumped my chest and stomach constantly while walking through the airport. At the time of writing, this messenger bag was north of $100 so not cheap especially for the poor user experience.I do not recommend this bag for travel. While it is a large bag, it is so poorly laid out for travel that you can't really carry much of anything in it. It's way too big to justify carrying only a few small electronics and books. If your use case is different than mine (laptop bag for work, light briefcase, etc.), this may be a better choice. While I have no doubt this bag will last me forever, I'll probably only use it sparingly.

I usually love Osprey bags and was excited to try this bike messenger bag. The quality of construction is good and all the zippers and pockets with fasteners work well and smooth. It seems to have limitless room and there truly is a pocket for everything. It does hold everything I need for the day securely and nothing falls out along the way. I gave this 4 Stars because it is an Osprey and they always perform well. The one thing that gave me a few problems at first is the way it hangs. I understand it is for biking and is designed to lay on the body while you are in motion. But when you are just walking or sitting it lays a little funny at first. I think as the material forms to you with wear it will lay a little better but be aware at first it a little stiff and it just seems a little harder to find the right spot to carry it when not on a bike. Overall a great bag that holds everything you need in place.

Very focused on biking, so if you're looking for a biking specific pack, this is probably for you. I just wanted a messenger bag, so i had to modify it by removing some buckle straps and things that didn't make sense for my use. Very high quality bag and seems like it will hold up for a while. Fits a 17" laptop without issue, but with a larger mouse the bag does start to look overfilled, the pockets do not have much storage available.

I really like this bag for the style, comfort, and versatility. The main pocket is able to carry a laptop, a tablet, and binders, with enough extra room on the sides for smaller items like a mouse or even a water bottle inside the internal pouch. There are two exterior pockets on the front. One is larger and opens wide and also contains smaller interior compartments for loose items like pens, keys, notepads, etc. In fact, it's large enough to carry a 10 inch tablet if you wanted. The other smaller exterior pocket is slimmer, narrower, and doesn't feature extra internal compartments, but is large enough to carry your phone, notepad, badges, and even a small tablet. The detachable strap can be rotated depending on the direction you hang the bag. The outside is water resistant, but the worst I've brought out into was a sprinkle and all it took was a quick wipe down and it was dry again. If I have to go out in heavier rain, I'll deploy the included raincover that conveniently tucks away into a built in pocket in the back. The shoulder strap can accept a thinner strap that goes under your arm to keep the bag stable. There are two of these straps that are used depending on the side you hang the bag and they can be tucked away in their own pockets on the outside of the bag. The handles on the inside of the bag make it easy to move the bag around when you're removing items. The handles on the outside of the bag are strong and great to have when you just need to grab the bag and go. The support structure on the back and straps make this very comfortable to wear even when the bag is fully loaded. The buckles are strong, but they are a little small and require concentration to use. I like buckles that I can open and close without needing to look at them. A few other things I wish they had included on this bag are: external pouches for stuffing items without needing to open the bag, an external compartment on the back of the bag for keeping sensitive items, loops for easily hanging or attaching items.
