The solar panel does not store power. When the solar panel is no longer in the sun, the pump stops. I thought it would work like my solar lights and have a way to control when it runs the pump and store the power so when we are sitting out on your deck in the evening and want that soothing water sound, that this would provide that ability, but no, it does not. Very disappointed and now I am stuck looking for a better solution.

If even a small portion of the panel (6 out of 110 cells) is shadowed from the sun, it will no longer pump water.Depending on the angle of the sun to the panel, which changes throughout the day, the water flow out of the pump is greatly effected.Subsequently, the water is either barely flowing from the fountain, or it is shooting out of the fountain and onto the ground around it, emptying the fountain of water. There should be a flow control included, a power switch and maybe a small backup battery to maintain consistent power to the pump so it doesn’t fluctuate in volume output.

The POPOSOAP 20W Solar Water Pump offers a convenient and eco-friendly way to add movement and aeration to small outdoor water features like ponds, fish tanks, and garden displays. With its solar-powered operation, it eliminates the need for electrical outlets, making it a versatile option for various locations.Pros:* Solar Powered Convenience: The biggest advantage is its reliance on solar energy. This eliminates the hassle of running wires and reduces electricity costs. It's truly a "set it and forget it" solution when the sun is shining.* Multiple Spray Options: The included seven different spray heads provide a variety of water patterns, allowing you to customize the look of your water feature. This adds visual interest and flexibility.* Decent Flow Rate: The 320GPH (gallons per hour) flow rate is sufficient for small ponds and water features. It creates a noticeable and pleasing water circulation.* Easy Installation: Setting up the pump is straightforward. The long 16.4ft cable and 6.6ft tubing offer flexibility in placement.* Eco-Friendly: Utilizing solar power reduces your environmental footprint.* Good for small ponds and bird baths: This pump really shines when used in smaller applications.Cons:* Sunlight Dependency: Like all solar pumps, its performance is directly tied to sunlight intensity. On cloudy days or in shaded areas, the pump's flow rate will significantly decrease or stop altogether.* Limited Power: The 20W panel is suitable for small water features. Larger ponds or fountains may require a more powerful pump.* Durability Concerns: While the pump appears well-made, long-term durability is a factor to consider, especially in harsh weather conditions. Some users have reported mixed results regarding longevity.* No Battery Backup: This model does not include a battery backup, so it will only operate when the sun is shining. This makes it unsuitable for nighttime use.* Possible flow reduction over time: Like most pumps, it will require periodic cleaning to maintain optimal performance.Overall:The POPOSOAP 20W Solar Water Pump is a good option for those seeking a simple, solar-powered solution for small outdoor water features. Its multiple spray heads and easy installation make it a user-friendly choice. However, it's essential to understand its limitations, particularly its dependence on sunlight and its suitability for smaller applications.Recommendation:If you have a small pond, birdbath, or garden water feature and are looking for an eco-friendly and easy-to-install pump, the POPOSOAP 20W Solar Water Pump is worth considering. Just be sure to manage your expectations regarding its performance in varying weather conditions.
