As others have said, these are a great deal. This is the water cleaning chemical that is supposed to have the least residual taste, but I don't have the other options to verify. Similarly, I don't exactly know how a vine reviewer could do a lab-grade test on these products. With that, I hope readers take this review with appropriate understanding of the superficiality.I personally do light backpacking and use a sawyer squeeze, which has never failed me (like many others), but I was interested in getting a few of these tabs as a backup/test, or for use when in a heavy norovirus area. I'm happy with these tablets, as I feel like I'm getting a good value for this backup scenario. Also, I'd note that while most reviewers seem to have gotten the tablets at the same time, mine took several weeks to arrive... and I have newer tablets than other recent reviewers. This makes me more confident in the integrity of this generic brand, and also shows a longer life.

I received these water purification tablets in April and they have a 2030 expiration. I haven't tried them, but will be keeping them for hurricane season, as we have a well that stops working when the electricity goes out. There seems to be a big misconception among the most popular reviews, which state that one tablet will purify 4 gallons of water. It states clearly on the package and the product description that one tablet will purify 1 liter of water if the water is clear, if the water is cloudy, then two tablets. That is significantly less than the reviewers state.

These water purification tablets are great to have around when you have no access to fresh drinking water. Each fast acting tablet will purify a liter of water in 30 minutes. There is no aftertaste or smell once the water is ready to drink. These are very easy to use and have a 5 year shelf life in the package. I plan on carrying these in my backpack when I'm out camping. You get 100 tablets in the package and it's an excellent value for your money.

I camp and hike a lot out in the middle of nowhere. No matter how well you plan, something could go wrong. Water is the key to survival and sometimes the water you find will make you sick if you don't treat it first. Each one of these tablets treats 1 liter of water and the package advises to use two if the water is cloudy. The packets are small enought that you could carry all of them in your backpack without taking up hardly any space. All you have to do is drop a tablet into the water and let it sit for 30 minutes and it is good to drink. This many tablets could help keep you alive for quite some time if you found yourself in a bad situation and had to wait a while for rescue.A must have for anyone going into remote areas where getting back to civilization could be difficult.

I bought these for emergency purposes, and hopefully I never need them. But they are great to have on hand just in case. I like the way they are packaged. It makes it easy to divide these up between several backpacks. It's handy that each of the tablet packs has the instructions, and manufacturing date and expiration date printed right on it. I appreciate that these are very fresh (made only a few months ago!). Five years is a pretty typical lifespan for this sort of thing. The price is reasonable and they seem very easy to use. I'll probably buy more.
