Actually 4.5, there are no perfect things. These are, as near as I can tell, the same shoes that we all wore back in the 70's because of fashion, the TV show and Kung Fu movies, or because just about everyone under 25 was poor in those days,,because of "the oil shocks" throughout the 1970's. A friend of mine got through a winter in Seattle, working as a waiter, with only these shoes to his name. Comfortable, long wearing for what they are, practical and very comfortable. I just bought a second pair. Sometimes the things you had because of necessity are the best. I suppose when you have a 3000+ year old culture, you start to get the hang of things...

Inexpensive, comfortable, and these do NOT have that overwhelming rubber smell that some of these chinese made shoes come with. Look for the white dot on the bottom.

Very comfortable fit and no rubber smell like some other ones that you can buy. The difference in manufacturer seems to be what looks like a white dot on the bottom of the shoe. Shoes that didn’t have this white dot, which appears to be an attachment point, had a strong rubber smell for weeks after being removed from packaging. Will buy another pair once they start getting worn out.
