Introducing Zumba Instuctor
Cherisse Kasper

Cherisse is a lifelong lover of dance, music, fitness and cheerleading.  Born in Puerto Rico, with five sisters, her house was always filled with Latin rhythms -- dancing was a constant! Raised in New Jersey, Cherisse excelled at cheer/dance through high school where she captained every one of her championship caliber squads. She was offered multiple scholarships in recognition of these accomplishments. For years, Cherisse channeled her talents to training girls in cheer/dance, with many of them winning first place in competitions.
Seeking a way to expand on her love for dancing and fitness, Cherisse found and fell in love with Zumba. She earned her teaching certification and is a member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN).  She adds her high energy and enthusiasm to her Zumba routines with exhilarating Latin-style dance stemming from her Puerto Rican heritage.  She is guaranteed to get you on your feet and moving to the beat as she mixes Salsa, Merengue, Belly Dancing and more - combining fitness and fun!
Join us for a high energy class at the Amenity Center & let’s get fit dancing!

Motorcycle decal 2013

King & Bear Motorcycle Windshield ID Sticker             6/2013

King and Bear residents who drive motorcycles now have an identifiable windshield sticker available. This new decal is an attempt to make gate access easier for resident riding motorcycles.  Please note that it is not mandatory.

Seeing as the resident bar codes don’t work well on motorcycles, bikers have long been at a disadvantage by not being able to use the automatic resident lanes in entering the King & Bear.

Displaying this new decal on your motorcycle windshield will help the guards to recognize you as a resident of the King and Bear. It should avoid having to stop your bike, and get your wallet, then pull out your driver’s license to show the guard.

The numbered decals are shown below and are available at the May Management office for a cost of $10.

Not only will the decal easily identify you and your motorcycle as a resident of the King and Bear but should cut down on the delay time in entering at the gates.

This decal will not work as a bar code so you will still have to go through the visitors’ lane.

When approaching the gates just point to your windshield decal.

It is a much simpler and safer way of entering your neighborhood.

Photo Club

Rick Kiehn, one of our Turnberry residents, would like to petition the community of the World Golf Village to

see if there is any interest in a WGV Photography Club that would meet once a month to provide members an

opportunity to learn wildlife/scenic photography and also promote personal growth, education and enjoyment

through nature photography. This would include scheduled outings and monthly meeting demonstrations and

photography technique sharing through various members and possibly outside experts. Contact Rick Kiehn at

r.b.kiehn@comcast.net for more info and future meeting dates.

Mailboxes for King and Bear

The HOA board of directors of the King and Bear have decided NOT to take over the maintenance of all the mailboxes in the community.  Therefore it is the responsibility of each home owner to maintain their own mailbox.  The place listed below is the least expensive way you can keep your mailbox up to King and Bear standards.

There are a lot of stories going around about some of our neighbors paying over $100 to replace their mailboxes that have been damaged or faded or broken.

Here is the scoop on your mailboxes...

Matthew Broadus Advertising will replace the mailboxes with a new painted box, new numbers, sand and paint the post and paint the gold ball for $60 plus tax.

If someone needs the whole deal , including a new post the charge is $130 plus tax. This includes the installation.

A new set of numbers picked up at our shop is $20 plus tax, if the homeowner wants to paint his old box.

Traffic tickets will be issued within the King and Bear.

The Board of Directors of the King and Bear have asked the St. John's Sherriff's Department to begin issuing tickets instead of warnings to speeders within the King and Bear. The decision comes after numerous complaints of cars speeding within the gates of the King and Bear.

Obey the speed limits signs and avoid the tickets. This is your last warning!

A speed of 39 mph will get you a $130 ticket! A speed of 40mph  will set you back $199.00

Walking Club - Turnberry

I would like to have a walking club in Turnberry. I had one in the past and it was very successful! I would like to name the Club - Arlene's Walkers in memory of my past walking friend Arlene Y.

Here is how it works: Call Dae Lynn Helm at 940-3404. Our group will start walking on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Turnberry. I will leave my house at 6:00 a.m. and make a loop around Turnberry phase 1& 2.

If you are interested in walking - join the group at your home when we pass. If you can not make it - no problem we will keep walking. If others want to walk more than 2 days we can make plans.

Walking Turnberry takes about 40 minutes and working persons can be home in time to get ready for work. All speeds welcome.

Rain or Shine. Please call me if you are interested. We will begin walking as soon as I can find a partner! Here is to a new beginning!

Are you home schooling your children?  Are you living in WGV?  If so, you may want to talk with others who are doing the same.

Kimberly Atkinson is home schooling her children and would like to get together with others.

This from Kimberly...

I am a resident of the World Golf Village, specifically Turnberry.  We home school our children and would like to connect with other homeschooling families in our area.  Is it possible to put my contact information on the website so other homeschooling families can contact me?  I would like to host a gathering where the families can get to know one another.
