When I saw them, immediately decided to buy without thinking. Very useful thing in the household. Sometimes you will not often have to use it, but when you need it, you will not be puzzling how to make the necessary hole in the metal.

finally used these to cut holes in 18ga sheet metal, used 3 different sizes and each one the pilot drill bit snapped off! spend the money and buy hole saws with solid pilot bits!!

These hole saws are only good for thin material (maybe 2mm, or 1/16"). I used them on 3/16 hot-rolled mild steel with a drill-press. I secured the steel with a 1/2" t-slot clamp and a 12" drill press clamp. I used a cutting-fluid, and the slowest speed on my drill-press.My first attempt was with the 20mm. I was able to finish the hole, but the piece of steel that was cut out was stuck inside the hole saw. I was able to get it out by first removing the drill bit in the centre. The problem is that there is no kerf on the *inside*, so as you are pressing the drill down, you are forcing the soon-to-be-cut-out piece of material tightly into the hole saw.My second attempt was with the 22mm. I had removed material from the inside of the cut in order to alleviate the problem with it getting stuck inside the hole saw, but I started to lose carbide bits. I was not able to finish the hole.My third attempt was with the 50mm. I started and stopped the drill-press several times in order to clear the teeth. About half-way through, I turned the piece around so that I wouldn't be cutting so deeply. I was able to finish the hole.The only reason why I got this set was to put holes into thicker steel, like 3/16 to 3/8. I believe these hole saws are inadequate for the purpose.Edit: I enthusiastically changed my rating from one star to four because of huhushop's handling of the situation. No regrets!
