The HP firmware will not allow this ink cartridge to be used. No amount of updates or changing settings in the printer will allow this cartridge to be used. The chip does come out of the ink cartridge easily. If you have an old ink cartridge then you might be able to cut it out to use. If you buy this ink then quickly test to see if it works. I bought and waited until I needed to replace. By that time too late for returns.

Saves money but works as well as the name brand. Easy to install. Long life.

You will run into issue due to these cartridges being non-HP product…after cussing out HP and anyone else I felt deserved it, I went too bed YouTube and found a video entitled “How to install non-HP cartridges”…and now it’s working. The whole process takes about 10 minutes, but it sure beats returning the 2 inexpensive cartridges and paying double for just one HP cartridge. So, avoid the frustration and find the video and feel proud you circumvented HP’s attempt to monopolize your cartridge provider choices.

I’ve been using the 910XL Black Ink Cartridge Replacement for my HP printer, and it has exceeded my expectations. The ink depth is excellent, producing rich, dark prints that look professional every time. It has a great capacity as well—I can print a large number of pages without needing frequent replacements.
