The tote is a very nice size and is sturdy. It stands on its own even when empty. The canvas seems to be lacquered if I can call it that, so it seems to be strong. The base is lined too, with a black water-resistant type product. The handles are those round strong handles that are adhered with a square patch of "holding" and not just attached by the handle itself. It seems extremely well made for the price. I believe it would be good for a few pounds, but nothing heavy like two gallons of milk grocery shopping on a regular basis. I think it would take its toll with that. This is great for everyday use of carrying things back and forth to work or light groceries from the store. I am using it as a gift bag for a few birthday presents. The adorable zippered "makeup" type bag that comes with it is just a plus. The zipper works amazingly well by the way; very smooth. The fact that BOTH items are monogrammed just makes this product just that more personalized. I highly recommend this product as an order for yourself or as a gift.

This was a super cute bag. I got it for the beach and shopping trips. Can't wait to put a hat clip on it and take it to the sand!
