This Brobantle Battle Rope is a quality product and comes with a kit of accessories that may come in handy depending on your particular setup. The included four 1.5 inch wide x 15 inch long loop-style straps can be combined and give you approximate length options of 15, 30, 45 and 60 inches to wrap around a larger or rough fixed object such as a tree, etc., or you may even have an object you can simply pass the rope around without the need for any type of fastener. There is also a "D" type anchor that can be fastened directly to concrete with the included anchors, or you could mount that to solid wood as well, though you'd need to purchase some lag bolts (1/4" or 5/16" diameter by around 4" long, depending on what you are fastening to) as none are included.Note, when it comes to anchoring your rope you'll probably find a fixed horizontal method is much preferred in order to keep the two halves of the rope from twisting around each other at that narrowest anchor point. If you were using the straps, for example, it would be better to form a "U" around a vertical object without any excess length, and then pass the rope through each end loop so that your connection is horizontal and ideally even held apart to form a "U" rather than a "V" with the rope, itself. Simply passing the rope around a smooth vertical pole would be ideal to keep the halves separated horizontally. Another possibility might be to form your anchor with the webbing straps coming from two different poles which would then have a horizontal tug from two points on the rope keeping it from twisting. The kit also includes a pair of nice silicone grip gloves that are really XL size so you may want to use a different pair if you have smaller hands, though I haven't found the need to wear gloves at all, as far as that goes. There is also a 2 inch wide soft loop fabric elastic headband you may find useful. The rope, itself, is encased in a nylon mesh sleeve that will undoubtedly keep it in great shape for a long time to come and is 1.26 inches in diameter by 29.5 feet long, weighing right at 10 pounds, all total. When doubled to form two ropes you'll have a bit over 14.5 feet when fully stretched, and frankly, I'm wishing it was a lot longer than that. Perhaps for a smaller or weaker vessel that may be enough, but I'm finding it is not very demanding to whip the ropes around for several minutes without much fatigue. Of course, I do find it a bit humorous that the manual that comes with the rope has several illustrations of exercises that will fatigue you, but it is really those exercises and not the rope that are making you work, so do you really need the rope..?? That said, and it is really a matter of your current mobility and strength, as to how much effort you'll have to expend. I did run the rope out to about 28 feet as a single line and definitely found that was significantly more work using one arm, so I really think I'd like to have about a 60 foot rope (30 foot halves) or two of these 29.5 foot ones. The 2 inch diameter rope option that some vendors are offering would probably also be more ideal. Again, this 1.26 inch diameter 29.5 foot model is probably most ideal for a youth or smaller-framed woman.I have to say, I do find the product page for this item seems to intentionally offer you lots of detail without telling you what you really need to know the most, which is the length of the rope, and secondly just how weighted is it? Even when studying the "Product Information Technical Details" section they do list the Item Weight correctly at 10 pounds, but the Item Length is incorrectly listed as 1.5 inch, which is not the actual 1.26 inch diameter nor is it the 29.5 foot length. Because of this, even though the product is five star quality, I am inclined to deduct a star, as it's hard to believe that the critical information being missing was inadvertent, which seems an all too common pattern with many product pages, making it hard to be sure what you are getting. Frankly, it seems counter-intuitive, given the cost of the excessive returns it undoubtedly generates. Then again, many customers probably choose not to hassle with doing the return...

I love these at the gym- not something I thought I would use in an apartment- but I have a big cement balcony (20 feet) and I hooked these to the railing with the super sturdy clip and webbing and was working out in less than a minute. They are great exercise even at a (relatively) short length. Handles are great. The nylon web covering has keep the rain off of them, and seems to make them a little quieter. Highly recommend. If leaving them outside full time becomes an issue I will update this rating.
