It definitely takes 2 people. The motor is heavy and there is no hook with this model. The housing also is large and heavy. We actually worked with 2 ladders and used them for support. There is no indication of which screws go where, but you can tell by the amount needed. The housing has 4 screws that attach to the bracket to mount it flush to the ceiling. We used a long thin pick to match up the first hole and hold it in place. Then we put in the 3 other screws. One of the holes was slightly off but we made it work. That was the only real technical difficulty we had. In spite of that, I gave it 5 stars because it is nice quality and looks awesome,

I love this fan. It has the finish that I was looking for. The bracket needed to be bent a little to be flush with my ceiling. My house is 97 years old so nothing is square. I’m not surprised that my ceiling isn’t 100% flat either. I’m glad I had a professional hang it because it took quite a long time to hang it so it so the blades didn’t rub against the canopy. It is surprisingly quiet and the remote is easy to use.

This ceiling fan is very high quality made and the control has worked great now to a few months. Little difficult to initially set up but very nice. I did not have to balance the unit it just worked great out of the box. Fan is Very Heavey so have a very solidly mounting electrical box in the ceiling!
