The design of this is poorly done. The handle on the side is just too dangerous as it gets too hot and is difficult to hold and pour. I ended up returning this and getting one with a stationary non-metal handle.

You definitely need to experiment with how much coffee you put. If you put to much it will overflow. You do get grounds in the coffee, but that's to be expected since there's no filter,

Firstly not worth the money. It does not perculate at all well with only one mug or cupfull. The percolator conical base is far to small in diameter for the coffee pot , this I believe is the cause of poor percutation (probably not a word, but I think you may understand what I mean).But I bought it for bivvi fishing so it just about does the job, if I dropped it in the lake I Would miss the money I paid , but not the perculator.
