I use mine for tying steelhead jigs. Works fine, but if I needed a lot of articulation during the tying process I would look elsewhere. Cannot possibly beat the price. Great product at $15 but not at all top of the line.

Update: After a few weeks of sticking with it it has gotten a bit better. I added a star because it does work, just needs a little break in.This vice is cheap, and that is the best thing about it. The hook seems to slip out of the vice unless I have it as tight as I can clasp it. I have adjusted it and can make it work, but for my son (12) who is just learning it causes frustration especially when trying to finish the fly.

So far this is a great entry level vise. Price point is perfect for beginners who may not pursue fly tying after attempting initially.
