Do not buy bc it does not fit like oem gaps at the top and bottom of tail lamp

The quality is on par with the factory unit, and it came well-packaged with all the necessary components. The installation process was a bit cumbersome and took some extra time to figure out. But once set up, it worked flawlessly. It's a good purchase if you're not in a hurry and ready for a little challenge.

The driver's side of my 2011 Chevrolet Silverado got a broken lens (see photo). I got this unit, watched a YouTube video on how to change and set to work. It didn't take too long. I'm not a car guy, so it may have taken me longer than others.Pros - PERFECT MATCH. The bulbs are included, so I didn't have to move the bulbs from the old taillight to the new one. The plug was a perfect match. There is a gasket inside the plug. Push it back a little bit and it will be easier to get the plug to go into the socket. Everything worked and all the bulbs lit up.Cons - There are 2 screws that hold this into the sides of the tailgate area. The clips for the screws on the new one really resisted the old screws. I just swapped the new clips for the old ones and it was easy to get it screwed in. There are also 2 "pin" assemblies that push into place when mounting the taillight. It was too much work to take the sockets for the old ones out and install the new. So, again, I swapped the new ones for the old ones. The old ones will make absolutely no difference in mounting the taillight. And again, someone that is more of a "gear head" probably won't have my issues.If you need a new taillight assembly, this is a great unit.

My old Tail light on my 2012 Silverado had a cracked lens so I thought it was time for a replacement. I expected an easy job as I had removed the old one recently to change a burned out bulb and it was just a matter of removing 2 Philips head screws and giving it a tug then it was out. It took 5 minutes maybe.The Awayet looked the same from the outside but I soon found out that the bulb sockets were keyed differently than the OEM light and when I plugged the existing 90 degree bulb sockets into the new tail light, they were now facing the wrong way and would hit the body instead of fitting in the hole so this was not going to be easy. The old lamp sockets could not be used and I would have to crawl under the truck and replace the wiring harness to the tail light. I also found out that I could not remove the mounting sockets for the mounting pins that came with the light. I really pried to the point of nearly breaking them, I tried spraying some lube on them but I never did get them off. I just removed the existing pin mounting sockets from the truck and pushed these in. Once I finally got the light in place, I found that the old mounting screws that hold the light on the side did not fit the new tail light screw clips either, I had to pry the ones from my old light and install them on the new light.Ok, the light was finally securely mounted and now I had to crawl under the truck and remove one other connector to get to the actual taillight connector. The new one fit well and was secure.It is now completely installed and looks pretty good. The fit is not as good as the original as is recessed from the body panel slightly at the top of the light no matter how it is adjusted but I can live with that.It was much more work than it should have been but it does look good and it came with a harness and even new bulbs. I decided to swap them out for Sylvania long life bulbs though so I wont have to change them and try to get those mounting clips off, for a while at least.This is a good looking light that may be a budget friendly option for you if you don't mind a little extra work, just don't expect it to be done in 5 minutes like if you were replacing an OEM light.
