I try to change my Cabin Filers every year to keep the air in the car clean. There's not much worse than driving down the road, having dust or sand blowing around outside. But keeping your cabin filter changed regularly make a big different as it filters this out before you breath it.Another thing is these filters keep such stuff as leaves and other debris from getting into your vent system of the air blower.Every time, I change my filter, I find it full of dust, sand, leaves, feathers and other stuff. The last time I changed it, the filter was almost black from the road dust. It's very simple to change your cabin filter.Go on Google, search for "How to Replace Cabin Air Filter in a {Make & year and model of vehicle you drive}"(Without the brackets)You should then be able to find a YouTube video showing you how to change your filter. With mine, I just need to remove 3 star screws in the top of the glovebox, then 3 star screws under the front edge of the dashboard below the glovebox and the pop the end piece of the dashboard. Then I remove the section of dashboard with the glovebox. You'll then see a slot with one screw holding a cover in place which needs to be removed. Then pull out the old filter, place a new filter in, then replace the cover and remount the section of dashboard. Very simple. If you have a new vehicle or from the past decade, then you need to change this filter every year. You can easily find out if your vehicles has a cabin filter by Googling it.Dealerships charge too much to do this.Edited 2023-08-12:Forgot to include part of the steps with my original review.

For some reason the engineers at Jeep require you to completely remove the glove compartment and use three different tools to replace the cabin filter on a Compass. Not easy and you need to be a bit of a contortionist. Not the fault of the filter, for sure, but still...The filter itself is good quality and fit just fine once I was able to access the compartment. I expect it to last about 20,000 miles - before I have to go through this again. I will re-order the same one at that time.
