After returning 3 previous kits, I found this and it's perfect. The extra wattage is much needed, and can be dimmed if necessary. Pro tip: If you are trying to use one remote in sync, it's best to point the remote up close and directly into the center of one light and set your settings, then do the same on the other light. After that they should be synced.

It always feels a bit risky to purchase a product that seems to be new and doesn’t yet have many reviews. However, having spent weeks pouring over the features (and reviews) of various photography lights, I decided on these, and I am very pleased that I did.Although the boxes that the bulbs came in were both slightly damaged – you can see that in one of my images – the bulbs inside each of the boxes were absolutely fine. Other than that, all of the pieces that were supposed to be packaged and included were there and well packed, and everything arrived intact. The only real “complaint“ that I might have is this. For those of us who are not accustomed to putting a lot of things together, the instructions could be a little bit more detailed. Also, these are extremely large lights. Although this is what I wanted, if you are a small person or not a strong person, they can be awkward to put together on your own. That said, one of the hardest parts to put together was pushing down on the black ring inside the umbrella portion for the light itself. (I noted this with an arrow on one of my images.) You have to have long enough arms and be strong enough and steady enough to push that black ring down until it fits into place. That was tricky for me, and it took a while for me to be able to accomplish it. But once I got the feel of it and pushed hard enough, I got it there for both of the lights.I also did not exactly follow the sequence of putting things together – I did try to do so – but I actually found that it was easier for me to put the bulb into its socket after I had the huge umbrella part attached to the top of the tripod. Initially, I did put the bulb in before that, but the whole thing was just too big and heavy for me to manage, so I removed the bulb to be on the safe side since I was struggling with getting everything all put together, got the umbrella portion squared away, and then put the bulb in, and then put the Velcro’d white cover over the umbrella portion. There are some very thoughtful features/details to this overall set. They have included Velcro strips for cables and wires, bags you can fill and use as weights to keep the tripod stable (I emptied my loose change jar and dumped its contents into the “sandbags“ to use as the weights), and gloves for removing the bulbs (I haven’t needed them yet because I just turn everything off and leave the units set up). As I was putting the tripods together, it did strike me that the construction was heavier/more solid than I anticipated, which is a good thing, and all of the pieces felt well-made.As for the results – I am still working with both lights on my photography; I am pretty new at this, but overall, I am very impressed at the features of the lighting itself – the ability to use one or both remotes, the various color temperatures and ability to control the amount of light, and so on. The lighting issues that I have had for some time definitely seem to be resolving.I am a novice at this, so the remaining challenge has to do with my knowledge level. I do feel like I will achieve what I ultimately want with these lights – so overall, I think they are a great purchase and really a great deal.
