Fisher-PriceWood Pretend Play Coffee Shop 20-Piece Wooden Food Playset will no doubt be the best add on to any other playset you may have or if you're just starting out your collection. As for the price IDK if I personally would pay 60 but others are different lol. This does not come put together so just a heads up assembly is required. When doing so i'd be careful screwing them in lol i strong-armed it and I split the wood oops but its still functions so that's what matters and also idk if its just me but i had such a problem on step 11 lol that's what took awhile for me to put this set together. Other than that omg its a super sun toy to play with and a fun addition to our play area. The accessories of the set are made from a really nice quality wood. They seem to be very durable. That's a plus in our house lol. As for the chalkboard I would get some wet chalk(i just found out this was a thing) It'll work better than regular chalk. Lastly if you have a little who likes to put things in their mouth then watch out mostly for the coffee part pictured below it's small and round

Assembly was a pain. Instructions were fine but the pre-drilled holes weren't easy to get screws in via a screwdriver so I had to use a drill. It took a while and my kiddo got impatient. I'd definitely recommend setting aside time when it's convenient to put this all together.I wish this came with more accessories especially a 2nd coffee cup! You get 2 cupcakes, 2 macarons, 2 pretzels, but only 1 coffee cup? The lack of coffee related accessories makes this feel more like a bakery than a coffee shop.Despite this, it's very durable, has trendy pastel colors, and good quality wood. Some fun interactive features: a chalkboard that really works with chalk, rotating knobs, a sandwich that can be stacked, pretend coffee that can be poured into the cup. When comparing this "Fisher-Price Wooden Coffee Shop (20 Pieces)" on sale for $59.99 with the "Melissa & Doug Cafe Barista Coffee Shop (35 pieces)" on sale for $65.99 it seems like FP is really lacking because the M&D can do so much more. However, simple toys can be better for children's development as they encourage imagination, creativity, and problem-solving. So if you believe in "less is more" this may be the better choice.

I have such mixed feelings about this, that I considered giving it only three stars due to assembly issues and it not being fully wood. But in the end, I think it's a cute little playset. The star rating is based on it being fully assembled and the star off is for it not being all wood.ASSEMBLYThis comes in many pieces, to the point where you may feel like you're the one building it rather than just assembling it! I decided to time myself, and put it together in a few different sessions. Total, it took about 56 minutes. This doesn't include opening and organizing the pieces, patching needed in an edge of the plywood, or setting up the food pieces. The screws included are blunt, which does help with making sure they go in the pre-drilled holes, but it's quite an arm workout! Some pieces are just "floating," rather than being attached, and are affixed with grooves. I'm not sure this was the best idea. For example, the Fisher-Price crossbar is quite loose and can be wiggled around. Where I mainly ran into trouble was piece 11. This is the piece on an angle in front of the "chalkboard." This piece is not accessible to reposition, and kept falling down during assembly. Upon closer inspection, it didn't seem wide enough to fit in both side grooves. I eventually had to use paper and glue to extend the width and make it a tighter fit. It could be just in the set I received, but I'm not sure this piece was sized properly. For those with a piece that fits better, assembly time should be shorter.COMPONENTS/APPEARANCEWhile it's said to be a wood set, there are components that aren't wood. The most disappointing to me was seeing that the entire chalkboard section (a big piece) is likely a pressed wood product. While most pieces that aren't obviously wood are painted even in the grooves/holes, so I can't guess with other pieces, this piece did not have overspray in the slots. The grooves were brown, a telltale sign of it not being real wood.I don't want to guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if any other fully-painted pieces weren't wood. This is a disappointment for an item claiming to be wood. Even complicated shapes like the croissant are very obviously all-wood with visible wood grain, so I don't know why they made this choice. Here are the non-wood items I'm fairly certain on:Felt: Red triangle piece of sandwichPlastic: Some knob parts, and mugWood byproduct: "Chalkboard" section/piece; other pieces may be, as wellIt's a shame the screws are very visible--there's even one on top of the purple countertop.PLAYABILITYThe set is very cute once assembled, and the little foods are adorable! The set's main feature is the coffee area in the back. I would have preferred a little oven to go with all the baked goods, rather than a coffee theme. However, because there is a coffee theme, it's worth mentioning that the coffee filter/handle (I'm not sure what to call it!) easily falls out. It seems that it should be a tighter fit in the provided slot.I wish they had made every item from wood, and that assembly had been easier. Despite assembly issues and not everything being wood, though, I still think it's a cute playset.

WOW! I think it’s great that Fisher Price has started to make wooden toys. This is remarkable! The attention to detail with this set is perfect! Your child can be a little barista and make coffee for you. The little pastries are super cute and your child can serve one of those to you also. My child is a HUGE fan of this toy and he can pretend to “go to work” like mommy and daddy do. He likes to pretend to make coffee and drink it. This is such a fun toy to play with. I like how there are two sides to this toy. The front is for display and someone can come up and order. The other side is for making the espresso. This is a high quality toy. I love the colors too! Definitely take note that you have to put this together yourself. It comes completely apart and you have to screw it all together. The screw holes are all pre-drilled and everything fits together as it should. It was fairly easily to put together. Didn’t take long at all. This is a very expensive wood toy and if this was $50, it would be a good buy, but for $60 it’s a little steep to only have a few accessories.

I ordered this on a whim for our kids who love to play pretend with food and stuff, and this has been an awesome toy! It gets tons of use because it's super cute and fun, has a bunch of different food options, and stores really easily when you're done to save space. The kids have been very much enjoying this and have been playing with it daily, and we haven't really had any issues at all so that's great! I give this a 10/10, definitely recommend, great kinds pretend food toy, you won't be disappointed with this!
