The product was great until it wasn’t. It arrived just before we left for the day so I attached it to his collar and off we went. My 5 month old GSD had it on for most of the day while hiking. I did notice a couple times that it was dragging on the ground when he was sniffing around which isn’t ideal and in retrospect should have been my first clue that I was going to have an issue but I just slipped it through his harness handle to keep it off the ground. That aside it seemed pretty reliable until we got home. Within 5 min of loading out if the car he had chewed right through it still attached to his collar. If you have a chewer even in the slightest this isn’t the product for you. I was under the impression that these were super durable but I was obviously mistaken and it’s actually a choking hazard since he was able to chew it so quickly without any resistance. I suppose it’s not the product that’s at fault here and I should have detached it when arriving home but i honestly didn’t think he would be able to grab it with his mouth the way he did. I gave it 4 stars because it’s now completely useless and trash due to it being broken in less than 24hours of receiving it. I’m not mad at the product though because it did what it was intended to do for the 6 hours it was in use. Got to love puppies right!

I purchased this for those moments when hiking with my dog and need to keep him close while passing other dogs. Works perfect for what I needed.

I'm short, 5'2" and my German Shepherd dog comes nearly up to my hip. The short control/training handle on a regular leash is too far from my dog, giving her too much leeway when I am trying to control her. this handle is perfect to have her heel near my left calf, and to sit calmly at street crossings so she can look both ways. I was keeping it on her collar, but it dips into her food, so I take it off when we go into the house. When we reach a grassy relief area, i let her move around on a 5 foot leash. On the way home, I have her on this training handle again. For me, it works quite well.
