My chickens love these! I feed about 1 to 2T. Per chicken and when they see or hear me coming they all flock to me lol. I also think it helps with protein and egg production when it gets low to give them the added protein.

These are a great value for a nice-sized box. They are well packaged, and my chickens come running for them. My dog is jealous - she sniffs the box and wants them too (no thanks, puppy).It's helped our girls get some extra nutrition and enrichment through a long, cold winter.

My local farm supply store sells 3.5 pounds for over $30, which makes it hard to give this as a regular treat. With this 5 lb box, giving my 4 hens a this treat a couple times a week, it lasts over a month. They get really excited when they see me getting it out for them. It's a good source of protein and fat when they can't get to bugs in the winter months. I also have a hen with wry neck, and I give her a vitamin E supplement to help with it. With vitamin E being fat soluble, this is the perfect treat for absorption.
