First I have installed quite a few Hunter fans over the years and have usually been quite satisfied with how they look and operate. We purchased and installed 2 of these fans because we really like the looks. Even though this fan look great and the fan runs quiet and smooth the problem is how the fan actually operates if you have it on a 2 switch system - one for fan operation and one for light operation. It didn’t work the way I had expected it to. The “FAN” switch acts as a “MASTER” switch for the whole fan. It has to be turned ON in order for the lights to work at all. So forget about just walking into the room and using the wall switches to either turn ON/OFF the fan and/or light. What’s the purpose of having a 2 switch system when the “FAN” switch has to be left ON all the time in order for any part of the fan to work? This means that the fan has to be controlled by the remote if you want the light switch to work on the wall. To make matters even more confusing the electronics in the fan don’t remember the position of the wall light switch when the wall fan switch was turned off. If the wall light switch was in the “ON” position when the fan wall switch was turned off it will now toggle the light ON when the wall fan switch is turned back ON and the wall light switch is now turned to the OFF position. After installing the remote unit in it’s supplied holder just above the 2 wall switches I am no longer so frustrated with how the controls operate. I just leave the fan switch ON all the time. When I walk into the room I turn the light ON/OFF with the wall switch and the fan ON/OFF with the remote mounted above the 2 switches. You still have the option of taking the remote out of the holder and using it to control both the fan and light functions anywhere in the room.Even though I didn’t know about the switch / remote operation issue before installing these fans I would still recommend them and would still purchase them. They are a great looking fan and they run smooth and quiet. We also changed the LED bulbs that came with them for brighter dimmable 800 lumen 2800 kelvin bulbs - not a deal breaker for me at all. I would have rated it as a 5 star if better bulbs would have been supplied in the first place.

This fan is beautiful and very quiet. The instructions are good but they don’t explain how to balance the fan. Luckily mine did not require balancing. This fan will not work with third party remotes so if you want to hook up a smart switch or controller to operate via WiFi or a digital assistant this fan is not for you.The 2-switch wiring makes no sense in how it operates. The way it should work is that the light and fan should work independently at their respective switches. Then if you have one or both turned on, you ought to be able to use the remote to control that function. The way it works in reality is that the unit is completely dead if the fan switch is turned off. So if your third party controller turns off the fan the light also turns off. If you walk in the room and flip on the light switch, you get nothing unless the fan switch is also turned on. If the fan switch IS on, the light switch works as expected, and all fan functions work. You can even turn the lights on/off using the provided remote, even though your light switch is turned off (provided that fan switch is left on). If you turn the lights on with the provided remote while your light switch is turned off, if you walk out of the room and turn the light switch ON, it will turn the lights off.Overall I like the fan and it is a nice addition to the room. Just wish there was a way to add smart functions to it.

Pretty thrilled with this purchase, the fan looks amazing and the dark wood matched my room nicely. The nickel finish looks classy. Quality seems decent, though it should be at this price. Easily one of the nicest ceiling fans I've ever seen. The LED bulbs flickered a bit when I first turned them on, I don't notice it now that it's been on awhile. They do make a faint buzzing noise which might be annoying if your room is silent, but they're fairly unobtrusive otherwise. The fan is very quiet, though not silent.Remote feels like a cheap kids toy, I really wish they'd have included something decent as this isn't a cheap fan by any means. It's perfectly functional though and all the controls and functions work well.Lots of misinformation and griping in these reviews for things I feel are insignificant. I had to LOL at the fellow who made a comment that after balancing, his fan looks like it has clothespins on it. The plastic clip is for TESTING the balance, so you know where to stick the weights. My unit did have a very noticeable wobble to it after installing with fan speed set to high. You stick the plastic clip in different positions on the blades until the wobble goes away, then you remove the plastic clip and use the supplied adhesive weights on the TOP of the blade where it can't be seen. Works like magic, mine took one weight toward the end of one blade and now it spins smooth as glass. I repeat for the fellow who lacks reading comprehension or fails to read instructions: you DON'T use the plastic clip as the weight. Bonus is there's three weights included so I was able to use the extras on my other fans to smooth them out. Many have suggested the lights don't dim, but I find the dimming function to work well. Just hold the light button the remote and they change in 8 different increments. They might not get dim enough for some people's tastes, but I find the low setting plenty adequate. The bright setting is superb, providing good light in the room without being blinding. Since this is the main light in my bedroom, I appreciate the bright light output and ability to dim if needed.I concur with the others that the bezel that fits over the mounting bracket does not sit flush with the ceiling. There's about a 3/16" gap and if you're looking for it, you can actually see a bit of the mounting bracket under it. It's not as bad as some people describe (in my opinion) and I'm confident nobody would ever know that gap existed unless I told them about it. I assume they do this to accommodate different ceiling textures. The 2-switch wiring makes no sense to me in how it operates. So let's ignore the remote control for a second because obviously it won't work at all if you have both circuits turned off at the switches. The way I think it should work is that the light and fan should work independently at their respective switches. Then if you have one or both turned on, you ought to be able to use the remote to control that function. The way it works in reality is that the unit is completely dead if the fan switch is turned off. If you walk in the room and flip on the light switch, you get nothing unless the fan switch is also turned on. If the fan switch IS on, the light switch works as expected, and all remote functions work. You can even turn the lights on/off using the remote, even though your light switch is turned off (provided that fan switch is left on). If you turn the lights on with the remote while your light switch is turned off, if you walk out of the room and turn the light switch ON, it will turn the lights off. Sort of bizarre and hard to explain; hope the above makes sense. I guess you could say the fan switch acts as the master power switch, it will also start the fan but only if it was on previously.I don't think it's a good or bad thing that it functions this way, I just have to remember to shut the fan off using the remote (and not the switch), so that I can use the wall light switch when entering/leaving the room. Far from a deal breaker, but certainly a head scratcher. I can see the benefit to this configuration though as the remote will always work regardless of light switch position assuming you haven't turned the fan switch off.All-in-all a great purchase. The design is wonderfully elegant without being too flashy-- I feel it would fit in with most any décor. Seems to be good quality. My wife loves it, I love it, can't ask for much more than that.
