This review is for the Crispaire instant hot water recirculating pump. I thought I would save a few dollars and ordered the Crispaire instead of the Watts unit. Rather than have a female swivel connection that hooks to the male hot water tank nipple, the Crispaire unit comes with a double female which makes it impossible to install without either, 1. buying more plumbing supplies or 2. removing the vent pipe and turning the unit around and around onto the nipple.Something so simple should not have to be so difficult. Furthermore, I looked for their customer service phone number or email address and was not able to find anything. I've returned this unit and have purchased a Watts. My advice is do not buy this unit.

This unit works and was easy to install. The concept of perpetually circulation also aid in prevent freezes for those who live in areas occassionaly hit byt cold but not designed for winterization.

This was easy to install because the pump can sit in your utility room. The only thing that goes under the sink is the valve that bridges the hot and cold lines. The basic timer included is helpful, and is basically most useful for preventing circulating water in the middle of the night when no one is using it. I'm considering purchasing a second valve for a branch of our water lines that goes to the other end of the house so that the bathroom on that end (our water heater is more centrally located) also gets the benefit of the instant hot water. In my opinion, and in my house, I'm more concerned about saving water, as we have a limited water supply. This keeps us from dumping a minute or two of water waiting for showers to warm up. Whether it ends up being more energy efficient is actually less important to me.

My house is long and narrow. The shower in the master bath is at least 75 feet from the water heater and for part of that distance the water lines run in the uninsulated ceiling of an outdoor breezeway. It takes 5 to 7 minutes of running before the shower gets warm. That's a lot of wasted water. This pump and valve recirculate the hot water in the lines until the sensor reaches its set point. When you turn on the hot water, it's there. But, I didn't want to keep that much piping continuously hot. The mechanical timer built into this pump would work great for some households with predictable schedules, but not for mine. So, I plugged this pump into a home automation plug, set the pump switch to "always on", created an Alexa routine and can now say "Alexa, heat up the water". She then turns on the pump, waits a few minutes and says, "Hot water is ready". After 30 minutes, she turns it back off. How cool.Be aware, this is intended to be only used with storage tank type, not on demand, water heaters. The package includes everything typically needed to install, including a manual with photos. (See pic) If you have basic plumbing skills, you can install this. Basic wrenches and tools are required. Otherwise, I suggest calling a professional. Now, I'm saving water and not wasting excess energy keeping the pipes hot. Shower time just got a lot less stressful. I hope this information was helpful to you.---This review is for: Instant Hot Water Recirculating Pump Kit - Effortless Install, Durable 304 Stainless Steel Sensor Valve, 20-Inch Safe PEX Supply Lines, Smart Timer for On-Demand Hot Water

Pump works fine but harder to install because the female inlet side doesn’t allow the fitting to turn so the entire pump must be turned in order to screw it on. I had to replace the supply lines and remove the vent pipe to get it installed. The valve oscillates causing the pipes to rattle when it first reaches the cutoff point.
