The 5000k Daylight LED is much brighter than the stock LED that came with the fan, and of course the color is white. One drawback is you need to file the screw area to the drawn lines for the stock screws to go back in. Another huge drawback is the light is no longer controlled by the remote, it will just stay on when powered.

I just got this and was planning to fit it on the ceiling fan in my dining room.I already have LED bulbs in it but I hate dusting the glass shades.Unfortunately, this is too big for this ceiling fan. I also tested it on the other 9 ceiling fans in my house and this is also too big for all of them. 7 of the other ceiling fans have 3 lights hanging dowward, 1 has 4 lights hanging dowward, and the last one has a glass globe.Plus, the screws on this light are pointed upwards and holes on my ceiling fans are all on the sides so I need some kind of adaptor that could screw to the light and has a smaller ring that fits up into the ceiling fan to screw on through the sides. It also wouldn't work on 9 of the ceiling fans because they all have the pull chain in the middle of the lights facing downwards and there is no place to put the chain through.I leave the ceiling fans on all year to circulate air and only turn on the lights when needed. They should be more clear that this truly needs to be used with a ceiling fan that is controlled with a remote and there is no pull chain throughway.I've already replaced all the bulbs in the ceiling fans with LED bulbs but it would be nice to have this style of LED light so there isn't anything to dust.

Ok, so we have a nice 52" Home Decorators Ceiling Light Fan. We bought it at Home Depot several years ago. The fan works great, but the LED module it comes with was not the brightest, and I had to order another one after a couple years. So this time, the LED module began "flickering," which I've heard other customers complain about. I called the Home Decorators Service Dept., but they no longer carry replacement LED modules for this particular ceiling fan/light. They said basically that I have to get a new fan. To their credit, they sent me a $75 HOME DEPOT card.We live in a "throw-away" society. It seems like everything is MADE IN CHINA & it's pretty much junk they send us. I think they do it on purpose. I digress... So our fan works great, just need a replacement LED module. So I saw this particular one on Amazon.com. It is not the exact size as mine, a larger circuit board, but it actually fit on the housing with magnets. The holes did not match up, but I knew the magnets would work. If needed I was going to drill holes in the housing, but didn't need to. I turned on the light, and Hallelujah! The light doesn't flicker, and it is brighter than the original as well. So I am very pleased with this item. That being said, like everything, it is MADE IN CHINA, so who knows how long it will actually last (I think it has a 2 year warranty). But for just $14, I gave it a try. And it worked. And we don't have to buy another ceiling light/fan now either. AND I got a Home Depot Gift Card. So Merry XMas to me! And to you as well! HO-HO-HO
