Perhaps I should have read the listing better but it took me by surprise that the fan blades fold into itself on top of the body so if you were just looking at the light it would seem to be a really LARGE and bright light. I replaced the one in the laundry room with this one as the bigger light gave more illumination to the room. Plus the fan might only have 3 speeds but provides plenty of air flow (CFM) for the room. I am a tech nerd so I get excited by what others might think are silly, but a ceiling fan with folding blades just made me smile!Note that the remote on this unit turned off/on other devices two room over. I gather it's a wide sprectrum remote so if your lights, fans, TV, etc start acting funny you know it's this remote or a good chance it's this remote. I would test it around your house just in case after installing the fan light. Still am going to use it just so I can mess with people... kidding! ;)

This socket fan light is quiet, functional, and moves a surprising amount of air in our small, stuffy hallway. Installation was very easy, and the remote works well, though it can sometimes mess with nearby remote-controlled items. There are a lot of settings and adjustable options, maybe a little too many, because every time we turn the wall switch off and back on, everything resets. Getting the color and brightness back where we want it has been hit or miss for different people in the house. We ended up hanging the remote in a hallway holder so we can use it to turn the light and fan on and off without touching the switch. In our old 95-year-old house, we couldn't add the recommended supports, so there’s a little shimmy, but that's on us, not the product. Overall, it's a solid and handy little setup once you figure out how to work with it.

Quiet and efficient. Moves quite a bit of air for its size. Very easy to install. Key to read and follow instructions. As others noted, remote works well but may inadvertently impact other remote items in close proximity. Light and dimmer function work well.

The bulb itself is bright. It comes with a lock in, like a ring where you screw one end to the bulb and the other end to the base, just in case. You use the remote to control the fan. Mine may have been defective or something because when the fan spin, it make this annoying noise like it rubbing on something. Something I turn on the fan, the blades fail to spin out, I have to flip the light switch off and on then it work.
