Recommended. Good quality and backlighting a big plus. Feels more expensive

I use this keyboard with my desktop mac mini. I switched from the Apple Magic wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard for two main reasons: #1. I work in a low light environment and am a senior. I got tired of squinting at the keyboard; #2. When the Mac is shut down it often will need a wired keyboard until Bluetooth is set up.Somehow, the Macally seems to have more keyboard space, even though it's the same dimensions as the magic wireless. I like that the letter and number keys are dished, and the function and arrow keys are slightly domed, unlike the magic keys, which feel flat. As well, the arrow keys are configured in an inverted T, which makes it easier for me to find the right key without looking at the keyboard. And the key travel is perfect for me. The magic wireless keys have less travel. The Macally is not a clacky mechanical keyboard, but at the same time I know exactly where my fingertips are and what they're doing: they don't slide around and inadvertently connect with a wrong key like on the magic's chiclet keys. And, the lighting is adequate, with three settings.PS - I don't know who except a number cruncher would need an extra-wide keyboard taking up desk space.

I'm using this keyboard with a mid-2010 MacBook Pro and it's everything I was hoping for.I love older computers. I grew up with them, I find nostalgia in their use makes me happy - I can also crack open a notebook case and change out an aging battery without needing an engineering degree and specialized tools. Plan on using it as a portal to the home server, but I wasn't exactly crazy about continually using the stock keyboard. "What if I could expose a different keyboard to cheeto dust and cookie crumbs instead?!" I thought to myself before embarking on the search for something which could take the brunt of my snacking abuses...MacAlly has been around for a long time, and this keyboard shows why.The keys are great with just enough give and "clickyness" I don't feel like I'm typing on a piece of cheap garbage. I've bought other keyboards, full size, RGB lit, bells and whistles thrown about in the descriptions - they don't feel as nice to use as this little gem. The keys have a slight indent which looks and feels proper, like someone took the time to design this nicely. The whole unit feels solid. It doesn't creak or flex, has good rubber feet underneath, and the color matches well enough with the silvery-aluminum and black keys of the MacBook Pro. It's just about the same size as the keyboard on the MacBook Pro too, funny enough.Illumination is well done with three choices of brightness and access to keyboard functions is pretty simple. A couple of key presses and you can adjust brightness of your computer display or volume as example. The keyboard as a Mac-centric product works VERY well in the Apple OS X environment. I've used it in Snow Leopard, Yosemite and High Sierra versions. I'm assuming it'll work just as well from Mojave through to Sonoma OS versions, but I just haven't felt the need to buy a new Apple product since 2016 so I couldn't reliably verify.Anyhow - Yes, I feel this is VERY well done keyboard. I would recommend it to anyone looking to either replace a stock Mac keyboard with a more petite version that gives you backlit illumination as a perk, or as a sacrificial stalwart against exposing your notebook's keyboard to the grime of life and crumbly bits of regretful late night nibbling.Highly recommended. The Price Point at $40 bucks as bought I find fair considering it works, works well, and seems like it's well built enough I'd expect it to keep working for some time.
