This is a nice sturdy pan and cover that fits well for those cakes, cookies and bars, etc. that I either make to take elsewhere or we did not finish and need to be covered for the next day or so. Finally, I’m done with trying to get aluminum foil to fit tightly, or plastic wrap to fit and seal as well. The side latches are a little different from most in that they slide slightly to unsnap but once you figure it out it’s not a big deal at all. I debated on buying another but I’m really trying to minimalize my life so we’ll see if I can make due with one.

Great basic sheet cake tray, love the handles on the lid, makes it ideal for transporting. Wish they had an option to buy a deeper lid in case you want to make a 2 layer cake, but oh well.

So, the idea is great: a pan you can bake in and then carry to whatever event you're providing food for. With a cake, it's better than having to cover the pan with foil or clear wrap, and it seems like it should be convenient. For the most part, it is.I made two things to test the quality of the non-stick: a pizza and some Rice Krispie Treats (couldn't think of anything gooier). The treats came out of the pan okay, but I tend to overdo the butter so that might explain the relative ease with which they came out. I did leave one end of the pan, maybe the last two inches and the side wall, ungreased, and that didn't seem to make a difference, at least not much of one, to the non-stick aspect. The pizza was a little different in that I purposely overcooked it a bit to see if it would stick, and there were a couple of spots that did. I was able to lift the crust in that area with a spatula with relative ease, but it was still a bit of a disappointment.Cleanup was pretty easy, so after use it's really what you want as far as the non-stick element. One thing to keep in mind, I have the 11X16 (interior size is 15"X10"), and you have to take that into account when you bake in this pan. It's not a big difference from a more traditional 9"X13", but you'll get thinner cake or Rice Krispie Treats unless you double your recipe. My RCT's were about half the thickness of what I get in the smaller pan, but were still great. As to using the handles and lid as a carry option, I'd say "maybe". It's a cool idea, but if I spent my time making something to take to a party or a dinner somewhere other than home, I'd want to get it there in one piece, and I'm not sure how well this will do that (think about how heavy your lasagna is). It's a nice system in clamping on to the pan, and that seems safe, but something about it worries me that if I put more than a couple of pounds of cake or treats in it, it may not hold up.It comes with three decorator tools so that you can make grooves and such in your icing, and that's a nice extra. It's still nearly $30 for the set, so you might consider other options, but this is still a nice set.
