Fixed my e5 Roomba right up. Error 11 I think I was getting. Old fan motor bearings were toast.Sounds like it should with no change in motor volume or tone. Running it's first vacuum run since being fixed so will update if this changes. The review that covered how to remove the plastic fan from the hub using oil really helped out! Initially I couldn't get the fan to rotate at all when holding the motor side with my other hand no matter how hard I tried. Put a little PB blaster in the plastic fan hub hole and let it sit for a couple minutes. I was then easily able to rotate the plastic fan right off. Cleaned up the plastic fan with dawn dish soap and then both it and the new fan hub with isopropyl alcohol.

Removing the fan blades from the old unit can either be a real pain to remove or easy. It's kind of a crap shoot. But this motor is a perfect fit. It works and though it requires a little more effort to go this way it saves you a few bucks as well.

Shipping took 30 days or so, but I sort of expected that in the beginning. Very easy replacement part for my iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaner. Works like a charm again. Thank you!

Original motor was not turning freely. Tried oiling but would not improve. This motor turned freely when taken out of the package and was a direct fit/replacement. Roomba e5 now works great. Some folks having difficulty removing plastic fan from original motor shaft but applying a small amount of 3in1 or army oil loosened it up just enough to remove it without risking breakage to plastic fan. Carefully spin the fan while holding the motor (or vice versa) and it should loosen right up. Clean plastic fan with isopropyl alcohol to remove oil then dry before placing on new motor shaft. Also, the position of the fan on the new shaft is important, as you don't want it spaced too far from, nor too close to, the motor or it will not turn freely when installed and reassembled.

The fan motor was shipped quickly and in a zip bag. It wasn’t the easiest to replace on my j7+ roomba, but I did take pictures of the old one before I started to take it apart, so that helped in putting everything back together with the new one. I also got help from a YouTube video and learned a lot. I tested the roomba on a hard floor and it worked great! I then put on a carpet, and also worked great! Thanks for a cost effective fix to a pesky error 26. Yay!
