We've rebuilt a few decks lately and I always use joist tape to help them last longer.We spent a lot of money on an expensive synthetic deck system but the joists right underneath are wood. We also live in an area with a lot of trees that drop needles down into the cracks so much of the year they are just sitting there in contact with the wood.This 2" tape looks exactly like the kind I bought at the big box store for quite a bit more money than this. It is just slightly wider than the 2x joists and allows the moisture to run off the sides instead of sitting on top of the joists.This tape is incredibly sticky and while I'm not sure it is necessary since the deck board are on top of it I don't think there is any risk of it coming loose.Overall happy with the "Clickslock 4 Pack Deck Joist Tape, 2" x 50' Anti-Corrosion Butyl Deck Tape, Self-Adhesive Flashing Joist Tape for Wood Decks Beams Roof, Waterproof Seal and Weather Resistance Tape".

When it comes to joist tape, I find that most products are pretty good in terms of durability and adhesion and this one is no different. Quality is good and I expect it to hold up well over time. The other main factor is cost. At ~$56 for a four-pack, this definitely falls into the reasonable category - I've seen some better deals but also some worse. For me, anything sub $15/roll seems to be reasonable but of course I expect better pricing when buying in quantity. My advice is to shop around and compare prices and review stars. This product is definitely a contender.

The tape seems durable and sticks well enough to the edge face of the lumber. Out of 4 rolls not a single roll was the advertised length of 25’. They were consistently 1-4” short of 25’. Also, the two inch tape width will not stay stuck down as it is folded over the 1.5” thick 2x lumber. This isnt really a significant issue I guess but kind of annoying.
