This review is for the GEYA GRT8-A2/A230 time delay relay (TDR). There were no problems with this order or the shipping. The TDR arrives packaged in a simple thin cardboard box with a one page reasonably well written “instruction manual” (data sheet would be a more accurate description). One word of advice is to confirm you have received the correct version. In another order, one of the GRT8 boxes I received was labeled as “GRT8-A1 B...-B2, AC/DC 12V-240V”. The TDR can't be both a A and B version or a 1 and 2! Fortunately it was the model I had ordered. The A230 parameter (per the data sheet) indicates the TDR supply voltage is “AC 230V (50-60Hz)” while the alternative choice of W240 indicates the TDR supply voltage is “AC/DC 12-240V (50-60Hz)”. I want to point out that I have used the A230 models with 120VAC with no problems. I believe the A230 model voltage range on the data sheet is incorrect and should read something like “AC 85-250V (50-60Hz)”. If I had a variable AC supply I would confirm the minimum AC operating voltage.Since each TDR relay uses single pole double throw (SPDT) contacts you may not need to worry too much about choosing a delay on or delay off aspect unless you are concerned about the TDR power consumption and/or the red “status” light. By selecting the correct relay contacts, normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) for your application, you may be able to perform either delay operation with a set of contacts. One thing to understand is that the “S” terminal, located between A1 and A2 on the relay input power connections, uses “an active low” operation. For example, if you don't want the TDR to automatically start a timing cycle when power is applied; you will want a normally closed (NC) connection between A1 and S to hold the S terminal “high”. (Note: connecting S to A2 does nothing). The NC connection will lock out the delay operation until you open the S connection. If the S terminal is left open circuit when the TDR is powered on; the relay will automatically start the timing sequence. Keep in mind that if you connect a simple on-off switch between A1 and S that the “on” position will not let the time delay start (for the delay on “A” model I'm using). You have to turn the switch “off” to allow the timer to start working. It's a backwards thought process here. If you want to use a push button to initiate the timer cycle you'll want a NC switch (again talking about “A” model) so that when it is pressed it opens the connection between A1 and S to start a cycle. When the switch is released it will then prepare the timer for the next time delay – after the current delay cycle has finished. The data sheet function diagrams indicate that a rapid switch operation may not activate the delay and specifies a maximum 200ms reset time. If you are confused with S terminal operation – think of entering say 90 sec on your microwave; but you do not press the start button – this is same as connecting S to A1; presetting the timer operation. When you remove the S to A1 connection is the same as pressing the microwave start button. One thing to note is having the S terminal on the “B” model shorted when powered up will still allow a few milliseconds of power to pass thru the TDR. During these few milliseconds the electronics is powering up to activate the relay. Beware of this situation as motors or other devices may briefly “hiccup” when power is supplied to the TDR.The TDR I have uses about 0.8-1.0 watt when the relay is active and that drops to 0.35-0.45 when the relay is off. Those wattage numbers won't destroy your electric bill; but if you have the opportunity to choose the A or B relay operation that uses the least energy would be the better choice.I actually erred with this order and should have selected the GRT8-B2/A230 for my application. I was able to adjust the wiring connections to make it work. However, the relay remains on (red status light on) in my application vs I wanted it to be off for steady state operation (no red light). Old training of “beware any red lights that could indicate a problem” is hard to break.Aside from I didn't really want a DIN rail mounting design, the GEYA relay is a nice small package – it's just not as universal use as a simple box with mounting tabs. I typically use a 4 or 6 position terminal block to organize all the electrical connections with these relays and the one side of the GEYA is completely blank which is an ideal place to gorilla glue on the terminal strip. Another feature is the GEYA uses a top and bottom catch for mounting to the DIN rail. This may make mounting/removing on the DIN rail easier. My Meanwell power supplies and other DIN mount devices I have use a rigid DIN mount on top with a single release catch on the bottom. I can still “hook” the upper catch of the TDR on the rail and then pull only the bottom catch to secure. The electrical terminals are large enough for two 14awg or one 12awg solid wire. If you are using stranded wire you may feel you have to tighten the screws pretty tight. I highly recommend doing a light pull on each wire to make sure it is secure. I've tried several different time delay settings and they have all been within spec. The 1s, 10s, 1m, etc knob, as defined on the data sheet, has stops for each position; but you may find the stops a little difficult to feel. I strongly recommend you move one increment at a time and don't rapidly rotate this knob. The 10-100% knob is smoothly rotated into whatever position you require. The markings for this knob have matched very closely with the settings selected. One other tidbit with the “2” model is you'll want to install the lower relay wiring before the upper as it can be quite irritating trying to access the lower relay screws – especially so when using solid wires. It would be better if these contacts were offset so you could access the lower relay screws in between the upper relay wiring but unfortunately they are aligned one above the other. I think that was done to keep the TDR width to just 18mm. I'd been happier if was 20-24mm wide with offsite terminals. One minor problem is I sometimes find one or more of the screw terminals very tightly closed on a new TDR. So far I have been able to loosen them; but I have been concerned I might damage the screw heads getting some loose. I also will occasionally have the screws backing out almost completely as I initially open up the clamp to hold a wire – seems like the clamp is binding. Once completely opened they haven't been a problem.Overall I am very pleased with the GEYA GRT8 time delay relay. It is well constructed (I accidentally dropped it on a hardwood floor once and I didn't find any cracks or other damage afterwards). The relay operation is fairly quiet; a muted click for the most part. I've observed it work consistently for a few hundred cycles so far – just what I'd expect. This first one I bought has been so reliable and useful that I have since ordered more of the GTR8 model – A2, B2, and W240 as well as a couple half priced A230 versions. I'm looking forward to many years of service from each one.

These bags are very sturdy. They feel smooth, both inside and out. I wouldn't soak them but they hold up in the rain without being absorbent and ripping. The ribbon handles are durable enough to carry a couple of pounds without failing.

Using this in conjunction with a contactor to limit the runtime of my air compressor. I like the compressor to stay charged, but as it's unattended for extended periods, I don't want it to run for hours and hours in the event of a major leak. I have it set to about 30 minutes so that the compressor won't run longer than that.

I ordered this as a replacement for a stairway-lights timer in a block of flats.I had intended to order the B1 version but ended up with A1 somehow. It still works, but the relay is energised when the lights are off.The main problem is that the switch-line (S) input is extremely sensitive. This caused some confusion for a while until I realised what was going on: I had to remove the neon indicators from two outdoor press-switches to avoid having the relay triggered constantly. (It is common in stairway circuits to have indicators wired across the switch terminals so that the switches are visible in the dark even though no neutral is provided at the switch)
