So we did try these out in the kitchen and they work as described - no problems there. But I stole one and put it underneath my bench grinder. I have limited space so I need to move the grinder on and off a portable bench. Without the trivet, the grinder vibrates my other work off of the table and the grinder needs to be clamped in place. With the trivet, only the smallest of hardware moves around on the table and clamping the grinder to the table is rarely necessary.Recommended.

Reading the 1000s of reviews on other trivets on Amazon I was wary to buy any of them. Finally came across this set and took the risk. They are just the right thickness and keep the heat off my hands and table. They are super easy to clean also. These are exactly what I was looking for. My only wish is that they came in other colors.
