Just didn't hold up like you'd expect. Not impressed.

This carbide end mill does a great job milling steel, even hardened steel. Pay attention to proper feeds and speeds, add coolant, and you have a recipe for removing metal in a hurry. Quality of the machined surface is also excellent. At theses prices, these end mills are a bargain.

I am admittedly not a great machinist, but I had no issues cutting plunging and cutting aluminum slots. I was able to cut hot rolled steel fine as well, even with the scale left on I had no issues. I got a LOT of chatter cutting tools steel, which I don't actually cut very often but for the sake of testing this endmill I gave it a try. I'm sure you could also get copper, brass, and maybe even stainless if you're familiar with how each metal prefers to be cut. I will give this end mill a 4/5. Admittedly though, I am not a great machinist. I was using a Wong Fu mill converted to use a shell mill. I cut aluminum fast, mild steel slow, and tool steel fast. I don't know if thats normal or not. I would be interested to see what a more experienced machinist would say. Despite the chatter I had experienced (which is kind of normal for me still) i had no issues and don't see how this is any better or worse than the bucket of tungsten carbide end mills someone gifted me.

This is a tough one to rate. They say you can use it with steel, but you'll just dull it instantly. It's supposed to be for steel, so for that it's 1/5. So, why am I not rating it 1/5? It's great in the soft stuff. It works on aluminum and brass like it's meant for it. So, it's 5/5 in aluminum and brass. If you tried to use this on something like 4140 steel, you'd probably just break it.I went back and forth between rating this 3 and 4 stars. I think it's more of a 3.5 star product than it is a 4 star product, considering it is completely useless for steel and steel is what's in the title. It is great for softer metals though. It really can make some clean cuts in brass and aluminum.
