This product doesn't work. Why it is even an option is beyond me. It has to have the plastic gear otherwise it won't work. Also because the teeth on the metal gear are not deep enough it will shred the gear on the operating motor.

I bought this one, and a slightly different one both from this supplier. Both of them have one of the valve ends that comes with exposed threads. The packaging arrived with no damage, the clear plastic bag holding the valve was in perfect shape, but the exposed threads on both of them looked like someone smacked it with a screwdriver or something else sharp. Clearly damaged prior to being bagged. Have a die set to fix the threads if you plan to buy these. otherwise they were great, and after smoothing the threads out with a die, I was able to use them with teflon tape and they worked fine.

So if you take the old one off with all the broken plastic pieces out of the motor casing and just I stall this part. It does not work. Still looking for information to get the motor to turn with this part. Great fit though.

Was trying to figure out a way to install a dishwasher in a new kitchen - after the plumbing was complete - not knowing from the beginning a dishwasher would be installed. I thought I'd have to cut the hot water line and splice in a valve and tee. This made the install extremely easy! Removed the 3/8" line to the faucet and installed this valve - connected the 3/8" line to the top and the dishwasher line to the aux. valve - worked like a charmed. Seems well built with smooth 1/4 turn action and fit and finish was equivalent to the double priced brand name valve. Good value and hopefully it will last.

I found 2 items when using this metal gear. Mine was about 1/16" too long on the gear side and wouldnt allow the cover to go down until I filed/sanded it to match the original. no big deal but necessary. Also as noted in the description the metal gear does allow the motor to short out when trying to fold outward as the case is connected to one of the motor terminals (as noted in the description). if you remove or lift off the plastic tail end of the motor from the main frame you can see the small stamped tab that contacts the board terminal. I bent it out of the way and reinstalled the end and works perfectly. You could file it off too.
