As far as espresso mats go this one is extremely nice. The wood has a nice grain and rich color, the leather is soft and feels genuine. The leather seemed to absorb some water in the course of my morning espresso making which didn't damage it at all but does make me wonder if it will develop a patina in time as most genuine leather products do. I make espresso daily so we will see how it holds up. Overall it feels very nice and looks great on the counter.That all said it is a bit on the pricey side for what you get. It's a bit smaller than expected and while that's isn't a huge issue it would be nice if for the money you got something with a little more coverage or with some additional accessories. If it came with a funnel, puck screen etc then it would be a no-brainer but on its own it's just a little expensive for what you get.If the cost isn't an issue then it's a very nice espresso mat that will hold all your espresso accessories neat, will keep your counters clean during your morning routine and will look great doing it. Can recommend.

My wife has become somewhat of a coffee "snob" since she set up her own barista station in the house. It's funny to see how serious she is about the whole thing and her drink routines. Her friends and family come over and out comes the quad lattes and iced mochas! She's gotten great at the art of drink creation. In fact, I think that's primarily why friends and family come over so often these days! But, in any case, the coffee station has to be perfect and upscale for it to produce the results she's looking for. That extends to the peripheral amenities like this tamping station. Does a person really NEED one that is so high quality and finely finished? ...Probably not. But it seems to make a difference because the drinks are delicious. And if she can keep turning them out each day with a smile on her face, the snobby coffee equipment is worth it.This tamping station is excellent. It is made of beautiful dark, rich wood with a thick mat. It's easy to take care of and clean. It looks amazing with the espresso machine and other equipment, and I hear people "ooh" and "aah" about it often. Truthfully, if a person is making espresso-related drinks nearly every day, they likely have everything out where it can be readily used and easily cleaned. And in that case, it necessarily is on display. As such, having beautiful things that compliment the rest of the house is very worth it. This tamping mat is the cherry on top.I wholeheartedly recommend this. It's excellent without reservations. Great seller, wonderful product, and quick shipping through Amazon. Order with confidence!
