Review for fine mesh 4qt colander: The mesh is much finer than the picture shows and appears to be woven to the bowl shape, making the openings more uniform than if were formed from a flat mesh sheet. The wire seems to be heavy enough gauge to last and it is well crimped at the top edge of the sturdy top ring. The base is not attached to the mesh making it easier to clean than colanders with attached bases that trap food. The mesh won't let any rice through; the openings are about the size of sugar grains.I seldom leave 5 star reviews, but this deserves them all.
