bought two of these for two trucks. Love them. It's hard to remember that the tailgate can do down by itself. very easy to install. Hats off to the person who created these@

Seeing all the new trucks with there electric tailgates, I was kinda jealous, but I thought this would be a nice move in that direction, without a $1000 a month truck payment. Mine is paid for. Ordered this along with a new hinge kit. The hinge kit was a perfect fit, this was not. The slots were not long enough to put the bracket on, so I modified them to fit. The bolt that holds it and the cable is not really a good fit. The clip doesn't clip anywhere, just sits on the bolt. Would've hoped for a better design, but it works. Got it all together, opened so nice and easy, no more banging when dropping the to. Opened and closed it again BEAUTIFUL! Went to show the wife, she pulled the handle and BANG, tailgate dropped straight down. As much as I wanted to blame her, I couldn't. Exactly three times and the weld broke.
