We laid this down on my daughter's floor as she's a teenager looking to go into professional tap/jazz/ballet (or teaching it) and she is always in need of a place to practice. This worked perfectly! I was on the edge though because some of the reviews talk about the "wave" or the bumpiness caused as it's unrolled. It's PVC-ish, so just like anything in that category, it needs to be "re-stretched" with use. The first day it may have a bit of a wave to it, but use it for a week and re-tape it down, and most of them go away. Repeat this again the next week and the floor is flat. The other way of doing it is how the install Marley professionally; they use a heat gun and "stretch" (gently) the flooring as they put it down and tape it. While I didn't do this technique, I've watched it done many times with this product and it works the same as re-stretching. It's one-and-done that way, but it probably takes a little more time up front to figure out the best setting on the heat gun to massage out the wrinkles.Overall the packaging was perfect, no imperfections on the mat at all. As with anything "rolled" up - no different than a poster - it will have to relax a bit to get it uniformly flat. And again, you can do that by heat or simply by re-taping it (and stretching it) every so often as it sits. Either way, this is the same quality as competitive-level Marley so I highly recommend it!

We have had this flooring for weeks now to use in the home, flipped it over to encourage the waves to fall out of the flooring before installing it but it hasn’t worked. Since it is rolled tightly they seem like they will likely never come out. If that’s the case, this flooring will be trashed and it’s a lot of money wasted. When dancing on pointe, it’s important to have a smooth, non-wrinkly surface. Look elsewhere if you plan on using it for serious practice.

We put this down over laminate wood flooring in the room our daughter uses for dance. As stated by other reviewers, the roll did not come on a tube so there were fold lines. We initially taped with painters tape as taught as possible and re-taped pulling more taught. It took a couple of weeks to flatten, but it was fine while it was flattening.Daughter says it's a bit slippery like new marley but servers it's purpose and thinks it will get less slippery over time.
