I needed to fix a broken plastic bumper on the John Deere tractor. This kit worked perfectly.I tried using the staples first and was impressed how easy it was. I then tried to melt some of the steel mesh into the crack only to have the heat needed to melt it affect the other side of the plastic. Big mistake. Finished the job using only the staples. Crack is virtually invisible except where I used the steel mesh.

I'm a novice to this. My suitcase was broken and I really didn't want to discard it. I found this gem to be very useful as it came with the wire mesh, hot staples and a soldering iron...also plastic filler. It helped extend the life of my suitcase. It's by no means a pretty finish but it helped fix/reinforce my travel bag.Really recommend this product!

This kit was "upgraded" to a 150w iron, Unfortunately, it's a wood burning soldering iron that's made for large bent chisel tips. The screws provided aren't long enough to hold any of the plastic welding feet. I used a longer screw and was able to hold the tips, but because the heating element is so large the tips barely make contact and don't get hot enough. The soldering iron tip got up to 310°F, and the plastic welding foot only made it to 255°F.Also, it says 2 triangle welding feet are included, but both kits I received and returned only had one.I never tested eu⁸888⁸

Gun is fine, well built. Puts out 3-5 volts AC at variable amperage based on staple used. Easy to apply staple using gun. Plastic welding iron is actually heavy duty built for approx 7mm tips. Those supplied are 5mm so yes, the screw seems short. It will hold though. I made a sleeve of rolled copper foil. Holds better heats faster, retains heat better. Bought this kit as ad touted precrimped staples with figer break away of tail. Even had illustration. So did enclosed instructions. Sadly a bait and switch. No crimps, staples do not break off under surface. You have to cut them leaving sharp rasp like surface you have to gring down. A lot of extra work, which is why I ordered this kit- believed I would get what was advertised. Nope. Welding rods ? No ID of type of plastic made with, therefore no way to know if compatible with plastic you are welding. While we are at it folks, none of these kits "weld" they are melting devices, no fusion of surfaces involved. Could not find way to contact seller. I really wish sellers would understand bait and switch results in fewer sales long term. Case is ok. Staples arrive jumbled in individual plastic bag for each type. I put mine in used pill bottles, bags already falling apart. Gun does heat up in seconds. Watch out for those sharp staple tails or spend more $ for the precrimped from some other company. Oh, and only 3 welding tips not 4 arrived.
