The product description as well as 1 of the images shows the max CFM of 7,731 on HI, but the package energy guide as well as the energy guide image shows the max CFM of 4,691. I chose this fan over the Hunter and Westinghouse which are ~$60 cheaper because of the ~2,000 more CFM this fan listed. This fan also does not reverse, so it will always be blowing down. My recommendation, if you are looking for an industrial style fan that moves a lot of air go with the Hampton Bay one from home depot.

Powerful airflow, silent operation on low speed and nice design. Everything I was looking for in an affordable fan. I installed it myself in about an hour.

Installed this fan in our 14 x14 bedroom and it really moves a lot of air on high. It was easy to install and is very quiet. I mounted the fan controller in a normal sized receptacle box on the wall and it works very well. The controller has four settings, with noticeable click stops at each setting. Definitely old school design but it works great. The blades appear to be plastic but they are very rigid and have a nice airfoil design, which I think is the reason the fan can move the volume of air it does and remain quiet. Just be aware that on the highest setting the fan blades appear to be spinning very fast. I have the fan mounted on a grid ceiling, with wired braces supporting the fan's weight, and the fan runs very smooth on all speeds, with only a little vibration when running on high speed.

We have many fans, but in this case we needed one that quietly moved a lot of air. The slim appearence fits our contemporary style and the 9000cfm this fan moves is amazing. It can go from a soft breeze to serious wind in our 35 by 20 ft area. Its completely silent.
