Fits a 2005 Mazda 6 with a V6 engine perfectly. It is made of very flexible plastic, similar to kids rubber boots. It is unknown how long this type of plastic will last under the heat of the engine compartment. Another concern is whether this type extra flexibility would cause problems during high engine RPM where air intake is at it's highest force, possibly creating a suction condition that would collapse the tube. The original intake tube was much more rigid and would not give under these conditions. Time will tell....

It fit perfectly, i have no recollection of how pliable the original one was 10 years ago when i bought the car , but this one was considerably softer. I dont think its anything to worry about and the car doesnt seem to care and it helped solve my engine light.

Our 2006 Mazda 6 V6 Grand Sport was having the check engine light come on intermittently. The mechanic tracked it down to this hose being torn. I ordered this replacement and it fit perfectly. The car has 93000 miles on it and it's 8 years old so the rubber parts are starting to become stiff and brittle. This parts needs to move since one end is attached to the engine which moves in it's mounts then the other end is attached to the air box which doesn't move. If you find you need to replace this part then there is no reason to buy anything more expensive that will only do the same job. Very easy to install too so no worries there.

Ordered for 3.0L Ford/Mazda. My original lasted eight years in a 12K/year car in the southeast. This replacement fits fine although, like other reviewers, I needed to do a bit of finish work to get it installed.I'm pleased with the purchase especially considering the cost of a similar part at local auto parts stores, but I'm hesitant to give it too many stars until it has been exposed to the under-hood heat. The massive difference in cost ($50 vs $200) might come from the use of lower grade materials, and I want to judge it properly. I will return in a few months to update the review. That said, even if it only lasts four years it will still be much cheaper in the long run, and it's very simple to install.

Great replacement on my 2006 Mazda 6 3.0l V6 engine. Original is very stiff and hard rubber. This replacement, while apparently the same size is a rubbery and flexible version. Not sure if this will result in decent product life or not but it "should" allow better air filter changing without splitting the accordion part. Hope this one does not split like the OEM one does. We will see. Took about 5-10 minutes to replace. Very easy (2 clamps and one valve/hose connection ...come with new replacement valve on top ...white thing is picture). Better than the duct tape I had been using on the original. Note: If the OEM intake cracks, you will get a check engine light. A local auto parts store can give you the codes with their plug in analyzer. I don't remember the codes but if it has to do with air mixture, etc...check the accordion parts of the intake...can be hard to see unless you flex it...Duct tape and a reset of the computer will get you by until you get this replacement part to fix it.
